Voice to Text---
.Looking down into the Sea this morning I can see that the last of that moisture plume that has brought cloudy skies over Baja for the past week passed over the Baja peninsula yesterday afternoon. A few lingering whispys are still passing over but it looks like the Sea of Cortez will be seeing abundant sunshine today.
Looking south to the Mexican Riviera where a few high whispys are passing the southern crossing early this morning but it looks like the entire west coast of Mexico will be free of any cloudiness by later this morning.
The Gulf of Tehuantepec remains calm this and the forecast is for these conditions to remain over the 3-day forecast period.
Looking out along 8N this morning along the ITCZ/Monsoon trough where there is absolutely no activity along the zone. This image is not even showing a cloud all the way out to the western Pacific. This morning the entire Eastern Pacific basin is pretty much cloud free.
With nothing more going on in our hood, I’m looking now north to the west coast of America where it’s no surprise that the Great Northwest is getting another round of rain and mountain snow today.
This image is also showing that cold low off the coast of Washington that will be dropping down the west coast today through Friday bringing mostly light rain and a dusting of snow to California as low as 2500 feet as It quickly descends south.
Northern California will see temperatures drop as this system moves down the coast tomorrow. Not a lot of moisture in this system so rain amounts will be light.
Southern California will also be affected by the cold air mass that is accompanying this system. Light rain late tomorrow into Saturday with a dusting of snow in the mountains and deserts of southern California into Friday night. It wall remain cold into the weekend then a warming trend is expected into next week.
Looking now over to the southwest where it will remain dry and mild through tomorrow with just a few light snow fluffys possible in the east central mountains tonight. Friday that Pacific storm will arrive on its way up into the Great Basin. It will be cold and cloudy over the weekend with just a chance of a few showers as most of the little moisture the storm had will be gone by then.
That’s what is going on to the north of us. Back on this side of the fence it looks like abundant sunshine and moderate winds are in the forecast for today.
Here are the details. The northern Sea light SW winds today and light northerlies for Thursday and Friday.
The central Sea moderate NE along the Baja coast and moderate NW along the Sonoran coast today, then Moderate NW for the entire central Sea Thursday and Friday. A little question mark of the Guaymas San Carlos two models are both showing WNW to 18 tomorrow other wise the entire central Sea is showing moderate winds over the 3-day forecast period.
The southern Sea light winds in the La Paz area today picking up to the mid teens tomorrow and back to light winds on Friday.
The East Cape pretty much NW 12-16 over the next 3 days.
The outside passage ballpark 17-20 for most of the passage today and tomorrow and then picking up to the low 20s on Friday.
The Mexican Riviera along with all that sunshine, from Mazatlan to Cabo Corrienties light to moderate NW and south of Cabo Corrienties light to moderate SW winds for the next 3 days.
Carnaval begins tomorrow in La Paz. It has been cool in the evenings there with overnight lows hovering in the high 50s so keep this in mind if you plan on joining the party goers this week.
As far as the daytime highs. It looks like a typical February day with temperatures in the high 70s for most locations in the Sea today.

73s Y’all
