Voice to Text---
.Looking down into the Sea this morning I can see that the Sea as well as the Mexican Riviera looked to be clear of any cloudiness.
However there is another moisture plume building off the ITCZ/Monsoon trough this morning between around 110-120. The plume is taking aim on the cape region. It’s still several hours away from the cape so it looks like this afternoon they will see some, first whispys then some multi-level clouds.
The Sea has a band of whispys that will follow in the wake of a cold low that the tail end will be swinging through the northern Sea and the central Sea this morning and early afternoon.
Looking south the Mexican Riviera it looks like it will remain cloud free for the next 24 hours.
Further south the Gulf of thunderbumper has very light winds in their forecast for the next couple of days then it looks like Thursday the next Tehuantepecker will arrive
Looking out into the Eastern Pacific basin and the ITCZ/Monsoon trough I can see there is a lot of convection building between 110 and 1020W this morning. This will be feeding that moisture plume that is developing this morning.
That’s what is going on in our hood, so looking now north to the west coast of America where a cold low will be bringing about a foot of new snow to the Cascades in the Great Northwest today.
Northern could see some coastal light rain but the northern state will be musty dry for the end of the week with a warming trend.
Southern California has a low and its associated cold front departing the region today moving NE into Arizona and the Great Basin. Today it will be cold and gusterly with Small Craft Advisories posted for coastal waters.
They could see some light showers as the systems exits to the east then a warming trend that will warm the southland up about 10 degrees by Friday.
Looking now over to the southwest where as that cold front moves through the state today and tomorrow it will bring gusterly winds and a chance of some valley rain and mountain snow.
High pressure will fill in the wake of the departing low and start warming the state during the later half of the week.
That’s what is going on to the north of us. Back on this side of the Fence in general the honeymoon (wind-wise) will be over on Wednesday. We have a had a delightful weekend with light to moderate winds in the Sea of Cortez and the winds will pick up a bit today and tomorrow and then Wednesday 20+ knots for the entire Sea.
Here are the details. The northern Sea mostly light winds today and tomorrow then Wednesday picking up to a bit less than 20.
The central Sea today and tomorrow moderate winds in the mid teens then picking up to around 20 on Wednesday
The southern Sea today high teens, tomorrow low 20s and then Wednesday mid 20s.
The outside passage pretty much the opposite of the Sea with 20+ winds today diminishing tomorrow to the mid teens and then Wednesday light to moderate winds for the entire passage.
The Mexican Riviera, Mazatlan is forecast to have 17-20 for the 3-day forecast period. The Puerto Vallarta area today light winds picking up to the moderate ranges on Tuesday and Wednesday. South of Cabo Corrienties light westerly’s for the next 3 days.
As you probably noticed the overnight low were a bit cooler this morning. As much a 10 degrees cooler in many locations. The daytime high though will continue to be in the mid to high 70s for the Sea. It will be a bit warmer tomorrow with the passing of that cold font. The Riviera will continure to be in the mid 80s.\
