Voice to Text---
.Looking down into the Sea this morning I can see that moisture plume that has brought cloudiness to the Sea of Cortez for the past couple of days is drying up. The extreme cape area will continue to see some cloudiness during the day but by this evening it looks like they should have a clear view of the full moon rising.
The central Sea will see some morning fluffys and give way to mostly clear skies later this afternoon. They too should have a good look at tonight’s full moon.
The northern Sea will not be affected by this moisture plume, but a low that has been moving NE up the Baja coast for the past several days. It is currently about 100 miles SW of San Diego and proged to move ashore this morning and continue move NE during the day. The tail end of this front will swing through northern Baja and bring showers to northern Baja and the northern Sea throughout the weekend.
All locations in the far northern Sea showed at least a trace of rain since midnight.
A La Paz blogger has posted that the rain will come as far south as Mulegé on Monday. The models I’m looking at show the tail end moving through northern Baja on Sunday afternoon with most of the moisture gone. Well we’ll see?
That’s what is happening in the Sea. Looking south to the Mexican Riviera it looks like mostly sunshine for the 3-day forecast period. Tomorrow there could be a few fluffys along the coast but not a broad pattern of any cloudiness.
Looking further south to the Gulf of Tehuantepec where with the added component of nocturnal drainage flow, winds over the Gulf continue to be near gale force. The pressure gradient between the Gulf of Mexico and the ITCZ/Monsoon trough is forecast to weaken today and that should diminish the winds below advisory levels by tomorrow afternoon.
That’s what is going on in our hood. Looking now north to the west coast of America where at the top of this image I can see that the Great Northwest will see a series of systems moving through the region keeping the Great Northwest wet at least until mid week.
Northern California will continue to see light showers this weekend as a front moves through. Next week high pressure will rebuild along the west coast and the north state should be dry albeit a bit cooler.
Southern California will be getting a double whammy this weekend with a warm low moving inland today bringing widespread rain to southern California that will continue throughout the weekend.
Just about the time this low move NE out of southern California a cold, but rather dry low that has been moving down the coast from Alaska will come ashore. It is forecast to exit to the east late Sunday and Monday morning.
Building high pressure along the west coast will bring clear skies and cooler temperatures to the southland next week.
Looking now over to the southwest where they are getting wet this morning as that Pacific storm moves across the desert southwest today with lingering showers forecast to last throughout the weekend. Sunday that Alaskan cold front will bring another chance of valley rain and mountain snow mainly Monday and Monday night. Under building high pressure the southwest can expect cool and dry conditions to return the second half of next week.
That’s what is going on to the north of us. Back on this side of the Fence it looks like the northern Sea will see moderate southerlies over the weekend and NW winds to 20 on Monday.
The central Sea from Santa Rosalia to Puerto Escondido should see moderate southerlies over the weekend as well and see the 20K northerlies return on Monday.
The southern Sea light to moderate northerlies over the weekend and then Monday the northerlies are forecast to be in the upper teens.
The outside passage will see another two days of very pleasant NW winds before picking up to the mid 20s on Monday.
The Mexican Riviera from Cabo Corrienties south will see mostly light southerlies of the 3-day forecast period. Mazatlan moderate NW and Puerto Vallarta light NW for the next 3 days.
Temperatures will be about the same as yesterday and be in the mid 70s to the low 80s in the southern Sea.

73s Y’all
