Voice to Text---
.Looking down into the Sea this morning I can see that the Sea has been clear of any clouds over the past 24 hours. Well, there was a light band of whispys that passed over the cape region late yesterday but in general the skies have been clear and it looks like that will continue today. .
Looking south the same is true for the Mexican Riviera.
Further south we have a Tehuantepecker brewing in the Gulf and downstream out into the Eastern Pacific basin. For the duration of this wind event the winds will be around minimal gale force and the event should last through the weekend. Gale warnings are now in effect for the Gulf.
Looking out into the Eastern Pacific basin and the ITCZ/Monsoon trough this morning where there is not a lot of activity along the zone this morning. Very little if any convection building along the zone.
The Jet Stream Analysis is showing there is no development of a southern jet so no Pineapple Express in our near future.
That’s what is going on in our hood. Looking now north to the west coast of America of America where at the top of this image a weak front has moved ashore in northern Washington producing light rain and high elevation snow today. The models are trending toward a wet and active period of weather through early next week for the Great Northwest.
For northern California an approaching low will bring a chance of rain to northern California this weekend.
Then high pressure is progged to build over the Eastern Pacific and into California on Monday and Tuesday. By midweek another trough is forecast to brush across the northern part of the state with little chance of any rain as far south as the Sacramento valley.
That low will slide down the coast and will arrive in southern California on Sunday bringing a chance of rain into the picture into Monday.
High pressure is progged to build over southern California on Tuesday with another low progged to approach later in the week.
Looking now over to the southwest where the cool weather will persist today as a low slowly exits eastward into New Mexico. In the wake of this departing low high pressure will fill in resulting in a warming trend into the weekend with a return to near normal temperatures by Sunday. The next chance of any rain will be early next week.
That’s what is going on to the north of us. Back on this side of the Fence in general the strong winds will be with us for the 3-day forecast period.
Here are the details:
The Northern Sea will see their strongest winds today and they will be ballpark 20K. Tomorrow and Sunday with NW winds should be in the mid teens.
The central Sea will see the mid 20s today and tomorrow before dipping to 16-20 knot ranges on Sunday.
The southern Sea. La Paz and the East Cape around 20 knot NW today picking up to around 23 tomorrow and Sunday.
The outside passage the entire passage should see very moderate NW winds today and tomorrow then Sunday the winds will pick up to the 25-30 knot ranges.
The Mexican Riviera light to moderate northerlies over the 3-day forecast period with today the lights winds. Tomorrow and Sunday in the mid teens.
