Voice to Text---
.Looking down into the Sea this morning I can see the skies have been clear over the Baja peninsula for Christmas day and last night.
The far northern Sea will see some high cloudiness, mostly whispyhs, today from a plume of moisture from the Pacific that is being pushed south by a cold front moving down the California coast this morning.
The extreme cape area could see a few high whispys pass over from another plume of moisture moving across the Eastern Pacific basin this morning.
Looking at the Mexican Riviera where they too could see some high whispys pass over from around Puerto Vallarta south to Cabo Corrienties today.
Otherwise it looks like the Sea as well as the Riviera should have a great solar day again today.
Looking further south to the Gulf of Tehuantepec where a cold front moving through the Gulf of Mexico will be delivering a surge of cold and dry air across the Tehuantepec isthmus starting this evening and into early tomorrow morning. Winds will be at minimal gale force and should abate by tomorrow morning.
Taking a quick look at the ITCZ/Monsoon trough this morning I can see that there is considerable convection building all along the zone out to around 150W. Around 120 a moisture plume has broken off and is moving north then is caught up in the west/east flow in the basin and heads east. There is considerable moisture in this plume however the leading edge that is approaching Puerto Vallarta this morning are mostly whispys. They could see some thicker clouds pass over the area later this afternoon. We’ll see?
That’s what is going on in our hood. Looking now north to the west coast of America of America where from Seattle to San Diego this image is showing rain along the west coast. To the east of all this rain along the coast in Eastern Washington, Eastern Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Colorado and New Mexico it is snowing this morning.
At this top of this image it looks like the Great Northwest will see periodic rain and snow for the rest of the year.
Northern California will continue to see periodic rain and very cold conditions along the coast and snow in the mountings all week.
Southern California will see a cold low moving through the region today bringing light to moderate rain and snow to the mountains. High winds are forecast for the mountains and deserts today with gusts to 55 mph. Along the coast Small Craft advisories have been posted though tomorrow.
As this system exits to the east this late tonight the rest of the week will be dry and cold with the next shot at any rain in the southland will be early next week.
Looking now over to the southwest where it will be warmer and mild today before another colder weather system passes to the north tomorrow. There is a chance they could see some valley rain and mountain snow as this system passes tomorrow. The rest of the week should be very cold with a hard freeze forecast for Friday night and Saturday morning.
That’s what is going on to the north of us. Back on this side
of the Fence the northern Sea south to around San Francisquito bay moderate SE winds today then moderate NW winds tomorrow and Friday.
The central Sea today and tomorrow moderate NW winds picking up to around 20 on Friday.
The southern Sea today moderate NW today. Light NW tomorrow then strong NW winds on Friday.
The outside passage the next two days should see strong winds and then on Friday the entire passage is being forecast to be in the mid teens.
For the Mexican Riviera, Mazatlan to Puerto Vallarta moderate NW winds for the 3-day forecast period. Cabo Corrienties south moderate SW winds for the 3-day forecast period.
