Voice to Text---
Looking down into the Sea this morning I could see that the southern Jet, aka the Pineapple Express was gone. There are still a few clouds, mostly high whispys out in the Eastern Pacific basin and they are slowly drifting east toward the extreme cape area and the Mazatlan region. I’d imagine that by mid morning they will all have passed.
So the skies are pretty much clear for the Sea of Cortez this Christmas morning for the first time in about a week. The skies along the Mexican Riviera are also clear south of Puerto Vallarta and as I mentioned they will clear by mid morning.
Further south looking at the Gulf of Tehuantepec a brief wind event is in store for the Gulf starting late tomorrow night into Thursday. Cold dry air will be funneling through the Chivela pass bringing winds in the Gulf up to minimal gale force. A gale warning has been posted and should be lifted early Thursday afternoon.
That’s what is going on in our hood so looking now north to the west coast of America of America where at the top of this image I can see a strong low and associated very cold front working it’s way down the British Columbia coast this morning It is already bringing snow to the streets of Seattle this morning. In the wake of this front the Great Northwest will see weaker system move through the area all week. In the meantime this is a cold one and snow is down to Sea level this morning.
Northern California will also see coastal and valley rain and a couple of feet of new snow will fall in the Sierras today before the storm moves east tomorrow.
Southern California will be dry and a little warmer today under weak high pressure. It will be gusterly along the coast today.
Tomorrow that cold front that is moving through northern California today will swing through southern California bringing some light rain and windy conditions to around 55 mph in the mountains. It will exit to the east on tomorrow night and then the southland will warm up just a bit into the weekend.
Looking now over to the southwest where a series of low pressure systems will sweep though to the north of Arizona through the end of the week. This will bring some periodic clouds and cooler air to the region into the weekend with little chance of any more rain or snow to the state until late in the weekend.
Well, that’s what is going on to the north of us. Back on this side of the Fence it looks like we will have one more day of brisk winds.
In the northern Sea today strong winds to 20 knots, diminished to the moderate ranges tomorrow and Thursday the winds should be light.
The central Sea pretty much the same thing with strong NW winds today diminishing to the moderate ranges tomorrow and Thursday.
The southern Sea which has had strong NW winds along the East Cape for the past 4 days will have one more day of strong winds today before diminishing to the moderate ranges tomorrow and be light on Thursday.

. When I Looked down into the Sea this morning with the NASA IR loop at 5 am. At the top of this image I saw a tiny blip that I zoomed in on and low and behold it was old St. Nick in his sleigh heading north. He looked a little tired, the reindeer looked exhausted. Rudolph’s nose was starting to dim a little. The bag on the back of the sleigh was empty. I saw him brush a little soot off his sleeve and wave and although I could not actually hear the words it looked like he was saying Merry Christmas to all and to all a good Night.
