Voice to Text---
.Looking down into the Sea this morning I can see the moisture plume that is drifting north off the ITCZ/Monsoon trough has been caught up in the west/east flow in the Eastern Pacific basin and starting late yesterday we started to see some high whispys pass over first the northern Sea, then the central Sea later yesterday afternoon and evening.
This morning the plume appears to be multi-level and breaking up as it approaches the Baja peninsula and it looks like we will see patches of scattered patches of a mix of whispys and fluffys pass over the central and southern Sea from time to time today. Right now there is a fairly heavy patch of fluffys passing over the northern and central Sea. Behind it the skies are clear so later this morning we should see clear skies for a while.
Looking now south to the Mexican Riviera where the coast is clear all the way to Central America this morning.
The winds in the Gulf of Tehuantepec will remain in the light to moderate ranges today and into tomorrow then Thursday evening the winds will start to howl thought the Chivela pass into the Gulf and the winds are forecast to be around 50 knots by Friday morning. This wind event should not last too long diminishing to gale force winds on Saturday and into Sunday, then next week, right now, it looks like moderate northerlies again for the Gulf. We’ll see?
That’s what is gong on in our hood, so looking now north to the west coast of America of America where at the top of this image I can see a big honk’n 968 low has moved out of the Gulf of Alaska and is now working its way down the British Columbia coast. This will bring more heavy snow to the Great Northwest through Thursday.
Northern California will also see some weather from this system with a winter storm watch in the sierras with snow forecast from Thursday into the weekend around Lake Tahoe and the northern Sierras.
The valleys and foothills of northern California will see rain starting tomorrow morning into the weekend.
Southern California will be drying out for the next couple of days from the last storms. Another system will bring another chance of rain to the southland this weekend.
Looking now over to the southwest where the Pacific storm that moved through southern California yesterday will bring valley rain and mountain snow to the southwest this morning and by this afternoon it should be exiting the region leaving very cold temperatures into tomorrow. Thursday will start a dry and warming trend that will prevail into the weekend.
Well, that is what is gong on to the north of us. Back on this side of the Fence today and tomorrow the northern and central Sea will strong NW winds in the mid 20s diminishing on Friday back to the moderate ranges again.
Here are the specifics.
Today the northern Sea around 26-27 knot gusts, Tomorrow a tad over 20 then mid teens on Friday.
The Central Sea today 26-29 knot gusts, tomorrow just a tad less and then Friday around 20 from the NW.
The southern Sea today ballpark around 20, about the same for tomorrow and then Friday say 15-17 knot NW winds.
The Mexican Riviera, Mazatlan to Cabo Corrienties light Southerlies today, moderate NW tomorrow and Friday.
Manzanillo south light to moderate NW winds for the 3-day forecast period
The outside passage the stretch between Cedros Island and Mag Bay will see 18-24 today. Thursday and Friday it should be pretty nice with the winds mostly in the low teens for the entire passage.
Temperatures today will be in the low to mid 70s in the Sea as the tail end of a cold front sweeps through the northern and central Sea this morning. It won’t warm up much tomorrow with the strong northerlies in the Sea so it looks like it’s sweatshirt weather in the afternoons around the Sea for the next couple of days. The Riviera will continue to see daytime highs in the mid 80s.

73s Y’all
