Voice to Text---
.Looking down into the Sea this morning with the 24 hour loop I can see that yesterday a cold front swung through the northern Sea that brought clouds as far as around La Bay. This morning the tail end of a system moving through southern California is moving through the far northern Sea. It should pass to the east by later this morning with clearing skies behind it.
The central Sea has had the Pineapple Express passing over. It has been a mix of high cirrus to dark bottomed fluffys. The supporting jet stretches out all the way from the ITCZ/Monsoon trough NE to Nova Scotia this morning. That’s quite a trip for all these clouds.
The models are showing the Pineapple Express to persist in about the same location for at least the next 12 hours, so overcast skies are again in our forecast for the Sea of Cortez. The heaviest concentration of the plume is from around Concepción Bay south to the cape this am.
Looking south to the Mexican Riviera I can see the southern crossing is pretty much solid overcast, but south of Mazatlan has only scattered broken clouds to as far south as Manzanillo . It looks like from time to time today they will see bands of what look like mostly fluffys come ashore and then pass over to the east.
Further south in the Gulf of Tehuantepec the winds are forecast to be light for the 3-day forecast period with the next wind event proged for around next Friday.
That’s what is going on in our hood so looking now north to the west coast of America of America where at the top of this image I can see yet another storm moving through the Great Northwest this morning bringing rain to the low lands and snow to the cascades. Tuesday this next significant storm will arrive and bring snow to the streets of Seattle.
I can see a trough approaching Northern California that will arrive later today bringing rain and snow to the Sierras down to around 2000 feet late this evening and into tomorrow afternoon.
Southern California will see a series of weak systems move though the region through Tuesday evening bringing mostly light to moderate rain. Wednesday through Friday it should dry out a bit before the next system arrives.
Looking now over to the southwest where valley rain and mountain snow will continue across the area early this morning as the last in a series of impulses moves through the state. Another cold Pacific storm will bring valley rain and mountain snow to the area late Tuesday night into Wednesday.
That’s what is going on to the north of us. Back on this side of the Fence the central and southern Sea will continue to have cloudy skies today. This latest image is showing the plume swinging a bit to the south this morning with the northern edge is right over Concepción Bay, so Concepción Bay may see some sun today. We’ll see?
The Riviera today should see mostly patches of clouds passing over. . Wind-wise the northern Sea should see moderate NW winds today and tomorrow picking up to 20+ on Tuesday
The central Sea should see moderate NW winds today picking up to around 20 tomorrow and back to the moderate ranges on Tuesday.
The southern Sea is forecast to have strong NW winds today and tomorrow and then light on Tuesday.
The Mexican Riviera Mazatlan to Cabo Corrienties today strong, moderate tomorrow and light on Tuesday. Manzanillo south light SW winds for the 3-day forecast period.
Most of the passage will see 20 knots today diminishing tomorrow and picking up to strong wind on Tuesday, with up to around 30 at Pt. San Quinten on Tuesday.
Temperatures continue to dip a bit each day with many overnight lows in the Sea in the 50s this morning.
