Voice to Text---
.Looking down into the Sea this morning I can see that after several weeks of clear skies we will be seeing some high cloudiness later today.
For the past 24 hours this ITCZ/Monsoon trough between about 110 and 125W have been producing a lot of clouds that start of drifting due north then east toward the Baja peninsula. By the time they will arrive most of the moisture is gone and they will traverse the peninsula and Sea as high thin whispys. At least that’s the way it looks right now. These high clouds should pass between the northern and southern crossings today.
Looking south to the Mexican Riviera where they will be seeing abundant sunshine today. No clouds along the coast at all.
Further south at the Gulf of Tehuantepec we have a minor wind event with 20-30 knot winds blowing through the Chivela pass and in and downstream of the Gulf this morning. These winds will be rather short-lived as the models are showing them diminishing to 20 knots or less by this evening.
Looking out at the ITCZ/Monsoon trough, as I mentioned it is producing a lot of cloudiness that is drifting north then east this morning. There is a lot of thunderbumper activity out about 125 this morning and I don’t know how long this condition will last. In the meantime it will continue to send a broad scattered band of high clouds in the direction of the central Sea, and to a lesser extent the southern Sea.
That’s what is going on in our hood. Looking now north to the west coast of America where Seattle is getting rain this morning and the Cascades a little more snow.
Oregon and northern California are drying out after four storms brought heavy rain to the west coast ending early yesterday. They should have cool and dry weather into the weekend.
Southern California will continue to have dense heavy fog along the coast and be breezy into the weekend. A mild Santa Ana wind event is in the forecast for Sunday. In the meantime moderate winds and mild temperatures for the region.
Looking now over to the southwest where the storm track over the western states will move south toward Arizona today through the weekend. This will result is a cooling trend with high temperatures falling to near seasonal norms by Sunday. The forecast is for dry weather to persist into early next week.
Well, that is what is going on to the north of us. Back on this side of the Fence it looks like we will be having very pleasant weather wind-wise through the weekend. That will change as high pressure is forecast to rebuild over the Great Basin early next week.
The northern Sea today is forecast to have light to moderate southerlies. Tomorrow and Saturday moderate NW winds.
The central Sea today is forecast to have moderate southerlies today then moderate northerlies tomorrow and Saturday.
The southern Sea light northerlies for the 3-day forecast period.
For the Mexican Riviera in the La Cruz area south to Cabo Corrienties light NW winds for the 3-day forecast period. Manzanillo south will see light southerlies for the next 3 days. The Seas should be around 3 feet at around 15 seconds.
Along the outside Pt. San Quinten will see ballpark 27 knot gusts today and cedros around 20, but the rest of the passage for the next 3 days will see NW winds in the mid teens.
All in all a very pleasant early December forecast. Temperatures will be seasonally cool in the low 60s in the Sea and low 70s along the Riviera. Highs in the Sea low 80s and the Riviera mid 80s.
73s Y’all
