Voice to Text---
.Looking down into the Sea this morning I can see that we have had another 24 hours of cloudless skies over the Baja peninsula and the Mexican Riviera as well.
Looking south to the Gulf of Tehuantepec where the winds in the Gulf have diminished to 20 knots or less overnight. They should see a brief increase to around 20 knots this morning then back to less than 20 for the rest of the day before a cold front is expected to move into the Gulf of Mexico tonight and deliver a round of cooler and drier air through the Chivela pass and into the Gulf by late tonight. Winds are expected to reach 30 knots by tomorrow morning and briefly reach gale force by Thursday morning.
The ITCZ/Monsoon trough is fairly quiet this morning with just a few thumpers working along the zone. There is a thin narrow plume that has broken off and headed toward the Mexican Riviera but it looks like none of the clouds will make it to the mainland.
That’s what’s gong on in our hood so looking now north to the west coast of America where at the top of this image I can see a big honk’n low moving down the British Columbia coast from the Gulf of Alaska this morning. This system is forecast to bring more rain to the Great Northwest and as far south as San Francisco today.
The heaviest rain will be in Oregon and Washington but northern California could also see some heavy rain to an already saturated northern California from the three storms last week. This system will be another warm one and snow levels will remain between 6 and 7000 feet.
After a dry day in northern California the rivers and streams in northern California have receded a bit allowing more water to flow from this storm.
Southern California will remain dry and a bit warmer for most of the week. Low clouds and fog will persist along the coast in the morning hours though. The region will be mostly cloudy until late in the week.
Looking now over to the southwest where dry weather with much above normal temperatures will continue through the middle of he week as strong high pressure passes slowly eastward over the region. Highs in the deserts are expected to approach record highs at many locations tomorrow at or around 80 degrees.
That’s what is going on to the north of us. Back on this side of the Fence the entire Sea will see strong winds to around 20 knots today diminishing a bit tomorrow and then very moderate on Thursday .
Today the northern Sea along the Sonoran coast to Guyamas around 24 knots. A bit less on the Baja side to around 20.
The central Sea from San Franciscito bay south to Puerto Escondido 20-25 today diminishing a bit tomorrow and then very moderate on Thursday .
The southern Sea including the East Cape today ballpark 20 knots today, moderate winds in the mid teens tomorrow and light winds less than 10 on Thursday.
Looking ahead to Thursday the bar over the Great Basin will be around 1015 and the Sea a tad less so not much of a gradient or winds.
Also on Thursday the high will build off the northern California coast to around 1022. The high off the Baja coast will be gone by then and the bar will be around 1013 around the cape. This gradient will give cause to strong winds to around 30 at the points and a bit less for the rest of the outside passage on Thursday.
Back to today: The temperatures in the central Sea will be in the high 70s today. The southern Sea and the Mexican Riviera mid 80s.

73s Y’all
