Voice to Text---
.Looking down into the Sea this morning I can see that the Sea has had another day of cloudless skies. There has been a few high whispys pass over but hardly noticeable. There is nothing on the horizon that will change that in the next 24 hours.
Looking south to the Mexican Riviera where there has been a few small plumes break off from the ITCZ/Monsoon trough and drift toward the mainland. Most dissipate before reaching shore with only a few high clouds passing over.
Looking south to the Gulf of Tehuantepec where 20-30 knot winds continue to funnel through the Chivalas pass into the Gulf with seas of 8-9 ft. Winds will peak near 30 knots during the overnight and early morning hours. Then diminish to near 25 knots during the afternoon hours.
The global models are still suggesting the next wind event should be about mid week with wind likely to be just below gale force with seas of 8-9 ft.
That’s what is going on in our hood so looking now north to the wet west coast of America. Rain, rain and more heavy rain forecast for today in northern California. The National Weather Service has posted a long list of streams and rivers that will be overflowing their banks today. The ground is saturated and they have also posted advisories for mud slides and debris flows. Along with the rain wind advisories have also been posted on the northern California coast with 50-60 knot winds forecast for today. SFO reported 40 mph winds early this morning.
Snow levels have been very high so far, but this last impulse today should be a bit colder and bring the snow levels below 7000 feet.
For northern California coast the rain should end this evening with the storm moving east.
Oregon and Washington have another storm on their doorstep that should arrive tomorrow night and Tuesday morning.
The LA basin will continue to see light showers this morning and heavier rain this afternoon. Dry and warmer weather is forecast for Tuesday into the weekend.
The San Diego area will also see light rain into Monday morning along with strong winds along the coast. They too will see dry and warmer conditions starting Tuesday into the weekend.
Looking now over to the southwest where the storm track is well to the north and the only affect will be some high cloudiness as the systems pass to the east. High pressure will build back in the region starting late Monday through Wednesday with temperatures in the lower deserts steadily warming towards record highs into the lower 80s.
That’s what is going on to the north of us. Back on this side of the Fence it looks like we will have another two days of moderate winds then on Tuesday they will pick up to the 20+ knot ranges for the entire Sea including the East Cape.
Today the northern Sea: light to moderate picking up to the mid teens tomorrow then 20+ on tuesday.
The central Sea today and tomorrow: moderate in the mid teens and then Monday picking up to the low 20s.
The southern Sea today: moderate today and tomorrow then picking up the the high teens on tues.
Temperatures in the Sea overnight was in the high 50s and low 60s. Today’s highs will be in the high 70s to the low 80s in the central Sea and mid 80s in the southern Sea and Mexican Riviera.
