Voice to Text---
.Looking down into the Sea this morning I can see that a few high cirrus, whispys, passed over the Sea yesterday, however this morning the skies look clear for the Sea of Cortez.
That being said there is a moisture plume emanating from the ITCZ/Monsoon trough that is taking dead aim on the area around La Paz. They should be seeing some cloudiness today.
Looking now south where we have the remnants of tropical storm Rosa and another weak low SW of Manzanillo that are producing a lot of clouds that are drifting toward the mainland. Water vapor imagery is showing a lot of moisture in these clouds so I’d expect to see some rain totals from around Manzanillo south to around the Tehuantepec.
I think we can close the Tropical Kitchen for the season. High winds aloft have put the kibosh on the wanna-be low that yesterday had a good chance of developing into something tropical and Rosa is now just a post tropical low.
The ITCZ/Monsoon trough continues to be very active this morning with numerous thunderbumper working along the zone.
Looking further south to the Tehuantepec where they have been seeing 25 knot wins for the past couple of days. Starting tomorrow a cold front will blast through the Chivela Pass and deliver gale force winds to the Gulf of Tehuantepec lasting until probably Thursday.
That’s what is going on in our hood. So looking now north to the west coast of America where high pressure is causing a heat wave over the western conus. Unseasonably warm temperatures for November are being recorded, and today and tomorrow will see more of the same.
There is a weather-maker low lurking in the Gulf of Alaska that will change all that later in the week. It’s forecast to arrive along the British Columbia/Washington border on Wednesday evening then drop down the coast on Thursday. This is a very cold system. There will be some rain but the major effect will be to drop temperatures as much at 20 degrees along the west coast. It looks like Fall will be arriving along the west coast this week.
Southern California will continue to be very warm and dry today and tomorrow with gusterly winds to 35 mph along the coast. Thursday the cold front will arrive dipping temperatures from the low 90s today to around 65 degrees on Friday. The front will also bring strong winds to the mountains and deserts to perhaps 50 mph.
Looking now over to the southwest where they will continue to have dry and unseasonably warm daytime temperatures through Thursday. Tomorrow and Wednesday could see record highs. This weekend will see the temperatures dip and bring a chance of valley rain and mountain snow showers. Today’s high in Tucson will be around 90 and Friday around 65 with an overnight low of 48 degrees.
That’s what is going on to the north of us. Back on this side of the Fence. The Ha-Haers should see have a delightful day in Bahia Santa Maria today. Very Moderate NW winds are forecast.
It’s a bit different on the east side of the Baja peninsula where we will be having another two days of strong winds. Wednesday looks like the winds will abate and be back to our normal moderate afternoon winds.
This weekend we should start to see fall descend on the Baja peninsula with temperatures dipping from the mid 80s now to the mid to high 70s. You may want to locate those sweat shirts you put away last spring.
Today the northern Sea will continue to Sea 20+ knot winds. Tomorrow the high teens and Wednesday moderate winds in the mid teens.
The central Sea today to Concepción Bay 20+ winds today, high teens tomorrow and moderate winds in the mid teens on Wednesday.
The southern Sea from Puerto Escondido south to the East Cape today 20+, tomorrow mid teens and light northerlies on Wednesday.
Now that being said: I noted that yesterday the 20+ knot winds that I forecast for the northern Sea maxed out at around 12-13. The forecast for the central Sea was also around 5 knots high. We might not have the gradient to support the 20 knot winds that I’m forecasting for today. We’ll see? I remember a pilot instructer once saying “Always trust your instruments” , so I’m sticking to my forecast.

Temperatures today will be in the mid 80s.

73s Y’all
