Voice to Text---
.Looking down into the Sea this morning l can see the blanket of clouds is still over most of the southern, central and a good part of the northern Sea this morning. All this cloudiness is coming from sister Miriam. Water vapor imagery is showing she still has a lot of moisture in her, so it looks like these clouds will persist at least one more day.
The latest image is showing Miriam deteriorating rapidly, so although we will most likely see cloudiness today, the chances of thunderbumper will be considerably less than the past 24 hours.
Looking south to the Mexican Riviera where during the early morning hours a good size cell developed to the SE of Mazatlan. split with one portion passed to the north of Mazatlan and at 5am it was around the Los Mochas area. The other extending out into the southern crossing to the east cape.
Further south along the coast there has been numerous cells develop with most just a ways off shore.
Looking now in our Tropical Kitchen. Sister Miriam is deteriorating rapidly and will pretty much stay where she is about 800 miles west of the cape. She is forecast to become a tropical depression within the next 24 hours and a remnant low after that. Her directions will be west, and there is no longer any threat to land along the peninsula.
That the good new. The bad news is the tropical wave that is titillating that low about 375 miles SW of Manzanillo will become our next tropical storm. It is in a perfect area for tropical development. It has been designated 94 Echo. It should develop rather fast over the next couple of days. Early computer tracks show it taking dead aim on the cape and entering the Sea of Cortez. These first tracks traditionally are rather scattered but 90% of the tracks show it heading for the cape and the Sea of Cortez.. I’d advise those on the cape, East Cape and as far south as La Paz to prepare for the possibility of a hurricane moving into the Sea. No timetable on this yet but certainly within the next couple of days. This storm will be named Norman.
That’s it of our hood so looking now north to the west coast of America where the west will warm up the remainder of this week into the weekend. Then it looks like their Indian summer will end. Long range forecast are showing fall is on the way for the west coast, with temperatures dropping around 10 degrees for most cities in the west by the end of next week.
Meantime temperatures will be in the mid to high 90s in the inland valleys.
Southern California in the 80s today and be in the mid 90s this weekend.
Looking over to the southwest were near normal temperatures are expected into the weekend as a low to the north drifts east and weakens on Friday and Saturday. A modest increase in moisture is anticipated to a chance of thunderbumpers mainly along the Fence for the next couple of days. Thereafter they can expect dry conditions with a warming trend. Tucson will be seeing 100 degree temperatures again.
That’s what is going on to the north of us. Back on this side of the Fence it looks like the Bay of La area will be seeing strong southerlies today, then moderate northerlies into the weekend.
The rest of the Baja side of the northern Sea moderate southerlies today moderate northerlies Friday and Saturday. The exception looks like Gonzaga bay that right now looks like 20+ winds on Saturday.
The Sonoran coast south to Guaymas looks like ballpark 20 knot winds for the 3-day forecast period.
The central Sea moderate northerlies for the 3-day forecast period.
The southern Sea, La Paz and the east cape, will see strong southerners today diminishing Friday and Saturday.
Temperatures in the mid 90s today.
