Voice to Text---
.Looking down into the Sea this morning I can see where the southern portion of Baja is blanketed with clouds from Sister Miriam, from Concepción Bay to the cape.
As Miriam moves further north this cloud cover will continue move north with it.
There is a lot of moisture in Miriam and some of these spin-off clouds could bring showers. However, for in the past 24 hours this image is only showering one, and that was a bit west of La Paz and out in the Sea.
Looking south along the west coast of Mexico, along the Riviera the only thing going down there is a thumper over Zihuatanejo this morning.
Of course Miriam is the hot item in our Tropical Kitchen this morning. She is currently 352 miles SW of the cape (18.7N 114.3W) moving slowly north and soon to the northeast.
She is still a cat 2 storm, however she is just entering cooler waters and will drop back to a cat 1 storm later today though Thursday when she should be just west of the cape.
Friday and Saturday she will head straight for Turtle Bay as a tropical storm. The latest models are showing her making landfall as a tropical depression on Sunday around Scammons Lagoon, just south of Turtle Bay. If you follow the track and doing a little interpolating it looks to me that it will pass over the Bay of La area on Monday as either a tropical depression or a remnant low. Either way, you may want to keep your umbrella handy.
The rest of Baja can expect to see cloudiness during the week as Miriam passes to the west. Showers are certainly a possibility.
That’s what is going on in our hood, so taking a quick look north to the west coast of America where the only significant weather item is; the high pressure that has blanketed the western conus for almost 10 days has now weakened. This is giving cause to a warming of the coastal cities as well as the inland valleys of California.
Southern California will continue to see gusterly conditions in the deserts and mountain’s today.
Looking over to the southwest where there is a slight chance of some thunderbumper activity in the White Mountains again today.
Later in the week as subtropical moisture moves into the region the chances of showers and thumpers in the lower elevations are possible.
That’s what’s going on to the north of us. Back on this side of the Fence it looks like the northern Sea will see moderate southerlies for the 3-day forecast period.
The central Sea today: moderate southerlies. Tomorrow light southerlies and Thursday strong southerlies.
The southern Sea today: moderate southerlies today, then Wednesday and Thursday strong southerlies.
Temperatures today will be in the mid 90s.
