Voice to Text---
.Looking down into the Sea this morning it looks like the Sea has been pretty much free of any cloudiness for the past 24 hours. There has been some high whispys but it looks like that is it.
Looking south along the west coast of Mexico most of the strong cells have been to the south of Zihuatanejo.
The ITCZ/Monsoon trough is fairly active this morning with numerous squalls along 10N.
Now looking in our Tropical Kitchen tropical storm Miriam is SW of cape and west of Manzanillo. She has become better organized in the past 6 hours and is becoming more defined. She is forecast to become hurricane by late this evening and a robust hurricane within the next 72 hours. By Thursday or early Friday it should be west of the cape and heading into cooler waters. At that time none of the models are in agreement, however a majority are showing the storm to track east, and cross the Baja peninsula, and enter the Sea around San Franciscito Bay. The big question is: What will be the status of the storm by then. A tropical storm, depression, or a remnant low.
That’s 4-5 days away, and every 6 hours the National Hurricane Center is updating this storm as well as the forecast tracks. I’m not going to guess what Miriam is going to do later in the week. If might not even head east and continue moving NW.
Meantime she is slowly tracking NW becoming a cat 1 hurricane today and tomorrow then cat 2 hurricanes Tuesday. Wednesday and Thursday back to a cat 1 and the latest model I’m looking at is showing it a tropical storm on Friday.
The only other item is that Tropical Wave that is headed toward the Mexican mainland. The high has disappeared over Mexico, so it might make it through and enter the Eastern Pacific basin. Should that happen it would most likely become our next tropical storm. We’ll see?
That’s what is going on in our hood, so looking now north to the west coast of America where with a low moving on shore today the entire west coast will see some cooling. The Great Northwest could actually see some rain by mid week.
Southern California will be around 90 today and by Tuesday the high will be around 80 degrees in the afternoon.
Looking over to the southwest where it is still hot. Tucson will break 100 degrees again today. A bit later in the week it will start to cool off as the high weakens over the Great Basin. They should see some subtropical moisture move in bringing a chance of showers and thunderbumper last in the week.
That’s what is going on to the north of us. Back on this side of the Fence it looks like the 3-day forecast period will see moderate southerlies.
On Tuesday the northern crossing will pick up to a tad over 20.
The southern Sea will also see moderate southerlies.
Temperatures today will be in the mid to high 90s.
