Voice to Text---
.Looking down into the Sea this morning I can see the yesterday afternoon there were a couple of hot cells south of La Paz in the mountains, but that was it for any thunderbumper activity along the Baja peninsula.
The Sea has been pretty much cloud free for the past 24 hours. Well, there were some high whispys yesterday afternoon but that was it.
Looking south along the west coast of Mexico. and the Mexican Riviera where the 24 hour loop is not showing any cells developing along the coast.
The ITCZ/Monsoon trough is moderately active this morning, with a long line of squalls running along 10N.
Looking now in our Tropical Kitchen: Our invest 93 echo, became a tropical depression around 8:30 last night, and will become a tropical storm Miriam most likely sometime this morning. The models are now pretty much in agreement that Miriam will take the same track as the last storms, and pass the cape well to the west ,and then move more to the NNW paralleling the Baja peninsula for her lifetime. Right now, it looks like she could make cat 1 hurricane status briefly on Monday. We’ll see?
Over to the west of Cuba I can see that Tropical Wave very slowly heading our way. The last one did not make it across Mexico. We’ll have to wait until perhaps Monday to find out what happens with this one.
So that’s what’s going on in our hood. Looking now north to the west coast of America where the big news is autumn is coming to the west coast. Strong high pressure that has blanketed the western conus for the past will start to move east this weekend. A low will descend down the coast and tomorrow move ashore bringing with it cooler temperatures to the entire west coast for next week.. Not a lot of moisture in this system, so chances of any rain are slim.
Southern California will remain warm until Monday where it too will cool from the 90s today to around 80 degrees by mid week.
Looking now over to the southwest where it will continue to have above normal afternoon temperatures. Today will be around 102 in Tucson. Yuma and Needles should see 107-108 today.
Not much change until Monday when it will finally start to cool off. They might even have some showers in the higher elevations on Monday.
That’s what’s going on to the north of us. Back on this side of the Fence in the northern Sea, Sonoran side will see today’s strongest winds from around Puerto Panasco south to the Guaymas area. Ballpark just under 20 knots.
The Baja side of the northern Sea will continue to see moderate northerlies for the 3-day forecast period.
The central Sea moderate northerlies today, then moderate southerlies tomorrow and Monday.
The southern Sea should be mostly easterly today, and swinging to the south tomorrow and Monday.
It looks like another delightful day with temperatures in the mid to high 90s.
