Voice to Text---
.Looking down into the Sea this morning, the 24 hour loop is showing no clouds in the Sea, Sonora, or the Baja peninsula.
Looking south to the west coast of Mexico I can see there has been very little thunderbumper activity along the coast in the past 24 hours. There is a thumper working right over Puerto Vallarta this morning. It is slowly moving out into open water.
The ITCZ/Monsoon trough is fairly active this morning. Embedded in the ITCZ/Monsoon trough is a low that looks like it will be our next tropical storm. It has been designated invest 93 Echo. The early forecast track show it pretty much following the tracks of the last couple of tropical storms, and moving NW of the cape and then moving along the peninsula in a WNW direction. The National Hurricane Center is giving this a 30% chance of developing into a storm in the next 48 hours.
So, we have something cooking in out Tropical Kitchen this morning. I can also see a Tropical Wave moving toward us, currently just south of Cuba. That’s a couple of days away.
That’s what is going on in our hood so looking now north to the west coast of America where high pressure will be with them for another couple of days. It looks like this weekend the high will start to weaken as several lows move in from the Pacific.
In the meantime, seasonal norms prevail over the west coast.
A rather thick fog bank is present from around Turtle Bay north to the Canadian border this morning.
Southern California will remain warm until that low approaches the southern California coast on Friday, then it will cool down a bit. The low is not forecast to move inland until late in the weekend and the first part of next week.
Looking now over to the southwest where they too will have to wait until next week before seeing any change in the weather they have had for the past week.
That’s what is going on to the north of us. Back on this side of the Fence it looks like another Chamber of Commerce day. The strongest winds will again be along the Sonoran coast today, a tad less than 20. The rest of the Sea in the moderate ranges.
We will continue to see these moderate northerlies until perhaps Sunday or early next week when we should have a return of the southerlies as high pressure relaxes over the Great Basin.
Temperatures will continue to be in the mid 90s today.
