Voice to Text---
.Looking down into the Sea this morning I can see that the Sea has been pretty much clear since yesterday morning. The Baja peninsula has had numerous hot cells pop up from the cape to a bit north of Mulegé yesterday afternoon.
Water vapor imagery is showing the Sea to be pretty dry this morning.
Looking now south of the cape along the Mexican Riviera where there has been very little thunderbumpers working along the coast for the past 24 hours until you get around the Gulf of Tehuantepec and from there south the activity increases.
The ITCZ/Monsoon trough is only moderately activity this morning.
In our Tropical Kitchen this morning I can see newly developed hurricane Lane just to the north of the ITCZ/Monsoon trough continuing pretty much due west. This storm poses not threat to any land.
The other item in our Tropical Kitchen is the remnants of tropical storm Kristy which is well west of the Baja peninsula. She is still classified as a tropical depression but should be plutoed to a remnant low later today.
So neither tropical system poses any threat to land or the Sea of Cortez. There could be some cloudiness from Kristy in the northern Sea later in the week as the low slowly moves north.
That’s what is going on in our hood so looking now north to the west coast of America where in a word, it is bland. High pressure blankets the western conus and from Seattle to San Diego they can expect to see sunny skies, seasonal warm temperatures well into the week.
Looking over to the southwest where the weather there is just a dull. Seasonally warm temperatures and dry. Just to spice things up a bit. Gusterly winds this afternoon to perhaps 30 mph in the Tucson area.
That’s what is going on to the north of us. Back on this side of the Fence the mostly moderate winds will have a northern flavor for the next 3 days. The exception will be the northern crossing where they will be seeing the strongest winds over the 3-day forecast period, ballpark 20 knots. Today on the Baja side the moderate ranges but Tuesday and Wednesday lumpy.
It looks like sunshine all day today with thunderbumpers most likely working back in mountains along the peninsula this afternoon.
