Voice to Text---
.Looking down into the Sea this morning looking down into the Sea this morning it looks like the Sea has been mostly clear for the past 24 hours.
The exception is the cape area where it looks like several bands of rather wet cell passed over the extreme cape yesterday afternoon. All reporting stations at the cape reported up to a quarter inch of rain.
Right now the southern crossing is completely overcast from just south of La Paz to the cape and from Los Mochas to Puerto Vallarta.
There was very little thunderbumper activity in Sonora yesterday and last night.
It looks like there were numerous hot cells over the coastal mountains of central Baja. However here in the cove it has been clear for the past 24 hours. No rain was reported in northern Sonora for the past 24 hours.
Looking now south to the Mexican Riviera where to the east of Puerto Vallarta there has been a lot of cells develop in the past 24 hours and move toward the Sea. Most area on the wane this morning however from Mazatlan south to Manzanillo it is overcast.
It’s starting to get a little busy in our Tropical Kitchen this morning. We have tropical storm Kristy that is currently SW of the cape and following here assigned track, which is to move NNW over the next couple of days and gradually weaken. During her passage the seas from the cape to around Abreojos will increase to around 7 ft. I'd be surprised if the peninsula did not receive some showers as Kristy passes to the west over the next couple of days.
The next item on the burner is a wanna-be that is around 800 miles SW of the cape. It has a very good chance of developing into a tropical storm in the next 24 hours. It is forecast to keep moving west and pose not threat to the Baja peninsula or the Sea of Cortez.
Item three in out Tropical Kitchen this morning is another wanna-be that is around 1700 miles WSW of the cape. Not much chance of this developing into anything in the next 24 hours. Even it does it is too far west and south to affect us here in the Sea of Cortez.
That’s what is gong on in our hood so looking now north to the west coast of America where high pressure is keeping the west warm. No rain. No Clouds. Low Humidity so the fire danger is extremely high all over the west.
It will be unusually hot for Southern California with temperatures reaching 105 over the weekend. It will also be a bit gusterly, up to 30 mph. there will be some cooling Sunday. The high should rebuild early next week and bring the temperatures back up again.
Looking now over to the southwest where they will have dry and tranquil weather into the weekend. With the low humidity in the region, fire danger is a major concern for this weekend.
That’s what’s going on to the north of us. Back on this side o f the Fence with Kristy passing along to the west of the Baja peninsula over the next couple of days the winds along the west cape to Abreojos will be in the 20 knot ranges with seas to 7 ft. The rest of the passage in the moderate ranges for the 3-day forecast period
The northern Sea will be a bit gusterly today and then moderate winds for the weekend.
The Sonoran coast mostly moderate westerlies for the 3-day forecast period.
The central Sea light to moderate northerlies for the 3-day forecast period.
The southern Sea La Paz to the cape should see brisk to strong winds tomorrow but today and Sunday in the moderate ranges from the south.
Temperatures in the low 90s for most locations today.
