Voice to Text---
.Looking down into the Sea this morning in the 24 loop it looks like the northern end of the Sea was where most of the action was. Picking up in the afternoon there was considerable thunderbumper activity in the Sea and along the east coast of the northern peninsula. San Filepe has had about a half inch of rain in the past 24 hours.
The west coast of Sonora also had heavy thunderbumper activity that is continuing this morning. Yuma radar showed it raining in Puero Panesco early this morning. Most of the other showers have moved north into southern California of SW Arizona this morning.
The low that caused all this weather will be moving out of Baja into SW Arizona today and moving up into the Great Basin by tomorrow. There is still a lot of moisture in the northern Sea so the potential for more thunderbumpers this afternoon is still there.
The 24 hour loop is also showing a lot of cells building all up and down the east coast of Baja close to shore. Here in the cove late yesterday afternoon there was a lot of thumpers posturing back in the mountains to the west of the beach. We had a few gusts of wind to 27 knots but none of the thunderbumpers moved east into the bay. I could see rain though at the far south end of the bay.
Since midnight the Sea looks to be pretty much clear of any thunderbumper activity and it looks like most of the clouds are gone.
The Cape area had it’s share of showers yesterday afternoon as well. The greens keepers have been praying for rain. Need to keep those golf courses green. The La Paz airport reported about 1/3 inch of rain yesterday.
Speaking of green. Between Santa Rosalia and Loreto it looks like someone painted the hills green. Wild flowers are popping up all over the place. The desert has bloomed.
Looking now south of the cape along the Mexican Riviera there has been a lot of thunderbumper activity all along the coast in the past 24 hours. About 5:30 a cell developed over Puerto Vallarta and has been growing larger ever since. They had over an inch of rain yesterday.
Now taking a look in our Tropical Kitchen that wanna-be that popped up yesterday morning SW of the Tehuantepec has been moving north at around 15mph and is now a bit SW of Acapulco. Most of the early models are showing the track to start to move NNW and pass west of the cape. There are some wild hairs but none show the system moving into the Sea of coming close to the cape. This looks like our next tropical storm, her name will be Kristy. That should happen a little later in the week.
That’s what is going on in our hood so looking now north to the west coast of America where most of the west coast will continue to have seasonal temperatures. Fall is approaching the west coast and temperatures will soon be dropping.
In southern California that Baja low will be moving into the region today. Combining with the monsoonal moisture will give cause to additional thunderbumper activity mostly in the mountains and California deserts this afternoon and evening. Tomorrow it will dry out somewhat and by this weekend under high pressure will have returned and temperatures will be above the norms.
Looking now over into the southwest where heavy rain and some flash flooding will continue today as that low moves through the state. The forecast also mentions wet microburst potential leading to severe thunderstorm in the state today,
That’s what is going on to the north of us Back on this side of the Fence the northern Sea should see moderate SW today.
San Franciscito south to Concepción Bay moderate NE.
Puerto Escondido could see some light southerlies today. From there south light northerlies some with a western component.
Tiz our rainy season so just about any place on the Baja peninsula has a good chance of seeing at least some afternoon cloud build up with the chance of showers.
