Voice to Text---
.Looking down into the Sea this morning I see that the most of the Sea had at least high overcast yesterday.
The bulk of the weather was in the northern Sea due to a low circulating off the southern California/northern Baja coast. Water vapor imagery is showing the low spiraling just off the coast yesterday.
The 24 hour loop is showing numerous cells developing mostly on the Pacific side of the northern peninsula and then moving east to the Baja side.
Since midnight there has still been a lot of cloudiness in the northern Sea but no large cells developing.
Over in northern Sonora there was considerable thunderbumper activity yesterday afternoon that moved west into the Sea and north into Arizona and southern California. This morning most of those cells have dissipated.
That low off the coast has moved east during the night and is currently centered over San Felipe. It will continue to be the weather-maker for northern Baja today and this afternoon. It is forecast to move up into the Great Basin starting tomorrow. San Filipe had rain yesterday afternoon as well as early this morning.
Looking now at the southern end of the Sea. I can see where La Paz had a large cell parked over it for a while yesterday afternoon. The Airport reported 29 knots of wind there yesterday afternoon however no rain was recorded. There has been considerable cloudiness move up from along the Riviera into the southern crossing and the cape area and that area is completely overcast this morning.
Along the Mexican Riviera there has been numerous cells pop up and disperse during the past 24 hours. This morning one is building over the Puerto Vallarta area and further south from Manzanillo it’s pretty much one solid thunderbumper.
Now taking a look in our Tropical Kitchen this morning we have a wanna-be low sitting SSW of the Gulf of Tehuantepec that is producing at lot of showers and thumpers this morning. It is in a very environmentally friendly area for tropical development. The National Hurricane Center is giving this a good chance to develop into our next storm. Statistically the next two weeks are a very active time for tropical storm development in this region so we’ll be keeping a close on this system.
Well, that’s what’s going on in our hood so looking now north where the weather news is southern California. Lots of monsoonal moisture is moving up from the south bring showers and thunderbumper as far north as the mountains in LA basin.
In the San Diego area that low over San Filepe is swirling lots of moisture in extreme southern California. They are forecast to see scattered showers and thunderbumper this afternoon again through tomorrow morning. The mountains and deserts will continue to see showers into Wednesday.
Looking now over to the southwest where that low will interact with the monsoonal airmass over the state leading to above average chances for thunderbumpers today through Tuesday. Flash flood advisories have been issued for several counties in SW Arizona today.
That’s what is going on to the north of us. Back on this side of the Fence it looks like moderate southerlies today and tomorrow for the northern Sea, that along with possible showers. Wednesday right now it looks like light northerlies.
The northern crossing region: light to moderate southerlies today. Tomorrow and Wednesday northerlies.
The southern Sea Puerto Escondido south light to moderate southerlies today and tomorrow then light northerlies on Wednesday.
The latest satellite image is showing the southern crossing mostly overcast. The southern and central see mostly clear. The northern Sea completely overcast with a couple of hot cells here and there. It looks like they will have a day just like yesterday there.
