Voice to Text---
.Looking down into the Sea this morning first in the 24 hour loop it looks like the entire Sea of Cortez enjoyed sunshine all day.
The water vapor imagery is showing the Sea of Cortez as well as the Baja peninsula to be dry.
Over in Sonora different story. Yesterday afternoon thunderbumper developed over most of the state drifting north up into Arizoan and New Mexico. Early this morning it looks like a very large strong cell developed on the SE corner of Arizona and New Mexico right along the Fence. It’s not as strong as it was early this morning but it’s still there.
With that exception the rest of Sonora is pretty much clear this morning.
Looking now south to the Mexican Riviera where I can see a number of early morning cells continuing to build from just south of Mazatlan to Manzanillo this morning. None appear to be moving north or west so for the first time in over a week the southern crossing has no morning thumpers in it.
Nothing going on in our Tropical Kitchen again this morning. I can’t see any Tropical Waves headed our way either. It’s like everyone is waiting for the other shoe to drop. It’s the height of our hurricane season and there is nothing going on down there. It’s rather unusual for September, let’s hope it continues.
That’s was is going on in our hood so looking now north to the west coast of America where the big weather news is: A cold front is moving down from Alaska and tomorrow and perhaps Monday Seattle will see a little rain. The last rain there was on July 22nd A local Seattle forecaster said this morning, "Seattle residents unaccustomed to a record-breaking stretch of sun and warmth are reacting with guilt, anxiety, and discomfort."
The rest of the west coast is rather ho-hum. Mild along the coast and in in the 80s and low 90s inland.
Southern California will get a little thunderbumper action from monsoonal moisture moving up from the south that could extend all the way to the coast due to strong easterly winds. Early next week the thunderbumper chances will be primarily be confined to the mountains and deserts.
Looking now over to the southwest where there is plenty of moisture around for scattered mainly afternoon and evening thunderbumpers over the weekend. It looks like the southwest will see some increased thunderbumper activity Monday and Tuesday.
That’s what is going on to the north of us. Back on this side of the Fence Puerto Panesco south to the Guaymas/San Carlos area will see strong WNW winds to 20 knots today.
The Baja side of the northern Sea should see moderate northerlies today.
The central See moderate E or NE winds today. The southern Sea will see light to moderate northerlies today.
Pretty much the same pattern for tomorrow. Sunday right now it looks like the flow will be southerly and be in the moderate ranges.
Today looks like a day of sunshine. I would however expect to see some development of thunderbumpers in the late afternoon in the mountains west of the coast.
