Voice to Text---
.Looking down into the Sea this morning I can see that yesterday the entire southern, central and part of the northern Sea was blanketed with clouds moving over from Sonora. All along the Baja peninsula I can see the numerous cells developed, most short lived. Mulegé received a whopping 1.89 inches of rain yesterday according to Rick’s station downtown. The cape stations were the only other stations to receive more than a trace on the peninsula. The La Paz airport reported ½ inch of rain yesterday. Here in the cove we had sprinkles several time in the afternoon.
This morning’s image is showing the Sea again completely blanketed with clouds from La Paz to the Bay of La area.
Bringing up the water vapor imagery I can see the heavy moisture over Mexico flowing west into the Sea, the Baja peninsula and out into the Pacific. It would appear that these condition will continue today, so it looks like today will be much like yesterday with cells popping up here and there with areas of light to heavy rain and very few spots of sun if at all.
Looking now south to the Mexican Riviera where at 5:30 there was a cell over the Puerto Vallarta area continuing to build. At 7am it had moved north of Puerto Vallarta just about to Mazatlan.
The rest of the Riviera had very little thunderbumper activity along the coast or off shore.
There is currently nothing cooking in our Tropical Kitchen this morning. That quick moving John was in and out in a flash. He is now just a remnant low off the west coast of the peninsula. There still has a lot of moisture in it that will be drifting toward southern California for the rest of the week.
Looking out in the Gulf of Mexico and even out in the Atlantic I can’t see any tropical waves heading our way.
Well, that’s what is going on in our hood so looking now north to the west coast of America it’s a pretty dull day weather-wise up there. Not much change in the first week in September than the last week in August. Pleasant 70s & 80s along the coast and the mid 90s in the inland valleys.
Southern California has a chance of seeing some showers and thunderbumpers in the mountains and deserts from moisture moving up from the south.
Looking over to the southwest where a very moist and unstable monsoon airmass will continue to blanket the region into the weekend bringing a good chance of mainly afternoon and evening showers and thunderbumpers through the end of the week. I noted that Bob’s station in Herford received about a half inch of rain since midnight. This morning most of the heavy thunderbumpers are along the Fence near Nogales.
That’s what is going on to the north of us. Back on this side of the Fence it’s one of those “If you liked yesterday. You will love today” days.
Perhaps at the extremes of the peninsula they could see some sun but the rest of the peninsula just lots of clouds with a chance of a thunderbumper or two.
In general, Wind wise moderate southerlies in the Sea for today and tomorrow and swinging to the north of Friday.
The northern crossing area should see moderate winds with a northern component over the next 3 day.
The northern Sea mostly SE on the Baja side SW along the Sonoran coast.
