Voice to Text---
.Looking down into the Sea this morning I can see that most of the central and southern Sea had overcast from time to time yesterday. Heaviest in the morning hours with a line of cells from a bit south of La Paz to around Santa Rosalia in the coastal mountains. Several locations reported light rain. Here in the cove yesterday morning while we had just a trace of rain Mulege was receiving a half inch.
The cape area received almost an inch of rain yesterday.
It looks like a band of showers went through the Bay of La area yesterday evening.
Later in the day there was partial clearing for the central Sea however it looks like the clouds in the southern Sea persisted.
The water vapor imagery tells the story. Ballpark High pressure around 1020 over central Mexico and a 1006 tropical storm just west of the cape. The winds carrying the moisture went from the high to the low to the west of the cape.
The water vapor imagery is currently showing most of Mexico and Baja to be blanketed with heavy moisture. The east/west gradient flow is keeping the bands of moisture moving into the southern Sea and to a lesser extent the central Sea.
Since yesterday afternoon there has been a number of cells develop around Puerto Vallarta north to Hermosillo with a few emerging into the Sea mostly in the southern Sea. Since midnight I can see only one large cell in the Sea and it is currently east of Loreto.
So much for yesterday and last night. Will this pattern continue today? Probably!
Looking south to the Mexican Riviera where they have had heavy thunderbumper all night and continuing this morning. Puerto Vallarta received an inch and half of rain and Mazatlan just a trace.
In our Tropical Kitchen this morning there is nothing cooking along the west coast of Mexico even though conditions are favorable for tropical development if a Tropical Wave were to enter the basin. I can’t see any headed our way.
Tropical storm John was plutoed to a Tropical depression last night. The remnant low will move north a bit over the next couple of days sending moisture into southern California bringing a chance of showers to the higher elevations and perhaps the lower deserts.
That’s what is going on in our hood, so looking now north to the west coast of America where nothing has changed for the past week. Mild temperatures along the coast and seasonally warm in the inland valleys.
Southern California will be a bit balmy through the end of the week. The moisture moving up from the south will increase the chances of afternoon showers and thumpers in the southern mountains and California deserts.
Looking now over to the southwest where deeper moisture will continue to provide an upswing in the thunderbumper activity across the region through Thursday.
That’s what is going on to the north of us. Back on this side of the Fence the northern Sea and the Sonoran coast to a bit south of the Guaymas area should see strong southerlies to 20 knot today.
The Baja side of the central and southern Sea should see moderate southerlies over the 3-day forecast period.
The southern Sea will continue to see a lot of cloudiness and possible showers today. This may extend north to the central Sea. The models are showing that strong east/west gradient to be there for at least the next 24 hours.
With all this moisture in the air thunderbumpers can pop up anywhere so be advised.

Temperatures today should be about the same as yesterday in be in the low to mid 90s in most locations.

73s Y’all
