Voice to Text---
.Looking down into the Sea this morning I can see that the Sea finally cleared about mid afternoon yesterday.
This morning the northern and central Sea are pretty much clear. Yesterday afternoon this loop is showing some thunderbumper activity from just south of Santa Rosalia to around San Franciscito bay back in the mountains.
There have been no thunderbumpers in the Sea over night however in the southern Sea there is some cloudiness that is moving off the mainland from storms there during the night and early morning hours. There is still a line of heavy thumpers working from around Los Mochas south to just around the corner from Cabo Corrienties. As of 5:30 there was still a lot of thumpers working off shore from Cabo Corrienties to around the Puerto Vallarta area. Those cells are starting to dissipate now but there are still a lot of high topped clouds in that region.
South of Manzanillo the coast is pretty much clear south to the Gulf of Tehuantepec.
At 3am this morning invest 92 Echo was upgraded to a tropical depression and later this afternoon it should become tropical storm Hector. It is currently about 550 miles SW of the cape and the models are showing it moving pretty much due west for it’s life span. The models are also showing it not intensifying to a himicane as it moves west.
That tropical wave that I could not find yesterday finally crossed Mexico and popped up on the Pacific around Cabo Corrienties early this morning. No other data on it at this time.
The other Tropical Wave that we have been watching for a couple of days is almost into the western Pacific and will be off our map by tomorrow.
So things are starting to heat up in our Tropical Kitchen this morning. We have the first tropical storm we have had for the past couple of weeks and a tropical wave that will be looking for a low to stimulate in an environmentally friendly neighborhood to the west of Cabo Corrienties.
Looking over into the Caribbean I can see tropical storm Ernesto just south of the Yucatan peninsula. It is forecast to cross the Yucatan as a class 1 himicane starting later today and then after crossing open water to make landfall along the east coast of Mexico in the next couple of days. As it moves over open water it will give cause to increased winds across the Tehuantepec isthmus and most likely increased thunderbumper activity in that region.
That’s what is going on in our hood so looking now north to the west coast of America where it is hot and will get hotter as the week wears on. Northern California valleys will be seeing temperatures in the 106-114 ranges over the next couple of days.
Southern California will be looking at the 90s with a chance of some monsoonal moisture bringing some thunderbumpers in the deserts and mountains.
Looking now over to the southwest where Tucson is looking at the 105 ranges. They had a trace of rain last night. The area around Yuma and the Lower Colorado River Valley will see temperatures in the 114-115 ranges. Bob’s station at 5000 feet was not on so I don’t know what was happening up there.
This image is showing lingering showers west of Tucson this morning however it looks like they will clear soon. As this high pressure ridge continues to build it will put the lid on most of the monsoon activity until later in the week when the high starts to weaken. Any showers and thunderbumpers will most likely be in the higher elevations.
That’s what is going on to the north of us. Back on this side of the Fence the very moderate southern winds will continue for the Sea today.
The northern Sea mostly ESE for the 3-day forecast period.
The central Sea E or SE on the Baja side in the northern crossing area and southern winds along the Sonoran coast.
From around Puerto Escondido south to La Paz today ESE. The east cape east or NE in the afteroons.
Temperatures should climb a few degrees today and be in the mid to high 90s with a few locations into triple digits.

73s Y’all
