Satellite Report from this mornings Ham Radio Forecast
:
Voice to Text..........
.Well looking down into the sea this morning, first with the water vapor imagery. It a bit dryer over the mainland than the past several days. Looking now at the ir image I can see where there was a lot of cell development all along Sonora late yesterday afternoon. During the night one cell pretty much parked over the Northern crossing. When I got up at 4am I could see the lightning off to the east. By 5am it was gone. The 6am image confirmed that this cell was blowing out and by 7:30 am just some scattered clouds over the central sea.
Looking now at the rest of the sea. Just a few fluffy scattered about. Along the Baja coast you should see some of these residual clouds this morning.
Not a lot of buildup over in Sonora this morning. More to the opposite. The cells that developed yesterday and last night have moved up into New Mexico and Texas. Texas getting the lions’ share.
Looking south now to the Mexican Riviera. It looks like from a bit south of Cabo Corrienties to Acapulco there was a flurry of thunderbumpers last night. At 6am they were still going, however none of the Real-Time Reporting Stations were showing any rain last night. Sort of makes me wonder if their rain gages were working properly.
Well moving on. Further to the south. A bit to the southwest of the cape, at 15N 113W I can see the convection surrounding the low there. This is forecast by the NHC to move initially northwest then more westerly in about 48 hours with the possibility of some cyclonic development. Well, even if it does it will most likely be too far to the south and west to affect us here in Baja.
Looking now at the ITCZ. Not much going on there at all. Far less than usual. A couple of thunderbumpers. A couple of tropical waves that are forecast to keep on trucking west with no further development.
So it looks like there is not a lot cooking in our tropical kitchen. Himicane Hernan is well on his way to Hawaii, and forecast to Pluto to a TS probably sometime today. They eye has almost disappeared.
Looking now at the Baja west coast. From the cape to Pt. San Quinten pretty clean along the coast, however from Pt. San Quinten north into central California there is a thick marine layer hugging the coast this morning.
So in summary, taking a last look at the GOES west satellite image superimposed on a Google map, which I think is like way cool, because if I want I can zoom down to see the beach here. Anyway, there is still a band of clouds stretching across the sea with the northern extreme a bit north of Santa Rosalia, and the southern extreme a bit south of Concepcion bay. It is sort of meandering around as it breaks up. I would expect this to completely break up by mid morning giving us mostly clear skies this morning and early afternoon, with thunderbumpers developing along the coast in the late afternoon. They most likely will be dry and not produce any rain. Temperatures in the mid to high 90s today.

Don't chisel these wind forecasts in stone. This is an amateur Endeavour. They, however, are normally pretty close.
