.Well looking down into the sea this morning. The infrared images are not showing any clouds however the water vapor image is showing just enough whispys to put some color in our sunrise this morning. I can’t see any fluffys in the sea this morning. There is a pocket of debris clouds along the ITCZ, out about 120, that the Northeastern flow across the basin is picking up and sending pretty much straight at Cabo Corrienties. The extremes of these scattered clouds are about Puerto Escondido to the north and Manzanillo to the south. So if you are in this range expect to see some whispys today float over.
Switching satellites to the GOES fog seeing satellite: The west coast of the peninsula has just a light marine layer hugging the coast, and in Turtle Bay this morning. To the north, in California, it looks like it is frogged in from La La Land to San Francisco this morning.
So looking now at the West Coast of America: It looks like California is a bit overcast this morning. At the very top of this image I can see a big honkin’ cold low moving down from Alaska. This should arrive on shore tomorrow bringing rain as far south as the upper Sacramento Valley tomorrow. However, a dominating ridge of high pressure will keep the region dry on today. The approaching system will bring partly cloudy skies and cooler temperatures. California can expect to see some cooler temperatures as the system pushes cool oceanic air onshore. Max temperatures will be almost 10 degrees cooler.
I mentioned in the bar report that the north/south gradient had shrunk however there is still enough winds and dry conditions to continue to threaten California with Fires.
Ok moving out of California and looking at the great basin. Well high pressure dominates the basin. Providing clear skies and warm temperatures.
Which is about the same weather we will have down here today. Clear skies. Warm daytime temperatures and moderate seasonal northerlies this afternoon.
