Voice to Text---
.Looking down into the Sea this morning and using first the water vapor imagery I can see there were some whispys passing over the central and southern sea yesterday. This morning this image is showing the sea to be pretty much free of any cloudiness. The IR image is showing the same thing.
NOAA’s experimental fog seeing satellite did not show any fog in the Sea but it did pick up patches of fog between Turtle Bay and Los Angeles this morning.
Looking south to the Mexican Riviera I can see that from time to time there has been and will be a few scattered and rather isolated bands of clouds passing over the Riviera.
All this comes from a very active ITCZ/Monsoon trough. From Panama west out to around 140W it is pretty much one solid line to thunderbumpers.
Looking back over to the Gulf of Tehuantepec I can see a nice size squall just off the SW outside corner of the Gulf of Tehuantepec this morning. The Tehuantepec however remains calm with very moderate SW winds for the 3-day forecast period.
That’s about it for our hood so looking now north to the west coast of America where high pressure has brought warm temperatures and sunny skies to the entire west coast. Even Seattle has sunshine in their forecast.
Looking south to southern California I can see that the California bight is full of fog again this morning. It’s a bit shallower than it has been for the past couple of days and the coastal fog should burn off by mid morning. It will be a bit breezy today especially in the foothills and the passes but in general a delightful day in the southland.
Looking now over to the southwest where it will remain warm and dry today with temperatures in the mid to high 90s.
At the top of this image I can see an upper low developing over Utah. It will slide south during the day today and tomorrow. By tomorrow it will be drawing moisture from across the border into Eastern Arizona bringing a chance of some thunderbumper activity in the higher elevations tomorrow night and Wednesday. It should exit to the east on Thursday. Temperatures are forecast to hit the century mark Friday into the weekend.
That’s what is going on to the north of us. Back on this side of the Fence the northern sea will see moderate northerlies today.
The central sea (Santa Rosalia to Concepcion Bay will see moderate northerlies today diminishing a bit tomorrow. Puerto Escondido will be seeing moderate east or southeast winds over the 3-day forecast period.
The southern Sea light to moderate winds with a western component over the 3-day forecast period.
That being said the Sea will have in general a northern flow over the next three days.
Temperatures will continue to be in the mid to high 90s today.
