Voice to Text---
.Looking down into the Sea this morning I can see that the skies have been clear for the past 24 hours but it looks like that could change.
Looking south to the ITCZ/monsoon trough there is considerable convection all along the zone this morning that is producing abundant clouds that are moving northeast in the general direction of Baja. The area of cloudiness is about the side of Mainland Mexico and the leading edge of these clouds is about 500 miles west of Baja. Within these bands of clouds I can see numerous thunderbumpers working.
What it looks like will happen is that the mountains along the west coast of the peninsula will prevent most of these clouds from passing over into the Sea. The main body is inching northward along the coast and most of this cloud mass will miss Baja Sur all together and move ashore in northern Baja. We’ll see?
I however would not be surprised if we started to see some of these clouds later this morning or early afternoon.
Looking south to the Mexican Riviera it looks like from around Cabo Corrienties north they should be seeing some of this cloudiness later today.
That’s what’s gong on in our hood this morning. Looking now north to the west coast of America where it’s even more interesting.
The entire west coast is in a transition day. Mostly cloudy along the coast today. Tomorrow the entire west coast will be seeing rain.
Portland is forecast to have thunderbumpers tomorrow.
There is a wet late spring Storm about 450 miles west of Los Angeles this morning that is due to arrive in southern California tomorrow.
I can see another low that has dropped out of the Gulf of Alaska and it looks like it will merge with the system that is off of the California coast this morning.
So we will have a wet rather unstable air mass descending on southern California tomorrow. Southern California can expect rain, heavy at times, thunderbumpers and snow at the higher elevations.
It is forecast to be a fast mover and by Thursday it should have exited to the east with just a few lingering showers.
Looking now over to the southwest where a weak front moved through the northern portion of the state generating isolated showers and thunderbumper activity across eastern Arizona and the lower Great Basin.
This image is showing all of Arizona to be cloud free this morning. High pressure remains over the region however it will weaken as that Pacific Storm approaches.
Today and tomorrow temperatures will be down a few degrees as high pressure shifts east.
Then tomorrow night that Pacific Storm that the forecasters are calling a vigorous spring Storm will arrive with the potential for thunderbumpers and brief periods of heavy rain tomorrow night into Thursday afternoon.
The associated cold front will likely move to near the Colorado River by Thursday morning. The southwest can also expect blowing dust and lightning during the passing of this Storm. It should exit to the east by Thursday afternoon.
Dry and warmer weather is expected Friday into the weekend.
That’s what is gong on to the north of us. Back on this side of the Fence it looks like we could be seeing some cloudiness later today.
That cold front moving into southern California tomorrow will certainly bring a chance of rain to northern Baja. It could extend as far south as Gonzaga bay in the Sea.
April showers….Perhaps?
Wind-wise it looks like these very moderate winds will be with us for at least for the 3-day forecast period. That being said Thursday with the cold front passing to the north the winds, mostly in the central Sea, will be elevated at bit. Most likely less than 20 knot though.
Sunrise temperatures were down a few degrees this morning and yesterday’s highs were also down a few degrees in most locations. Today should be just about like yesterday wind and temperature wise.
