The good news is that it is raining today in Lewisville. It gave me time to be indoors and catch up on computer and camera stuff.
Lot and lots of photos on my cameras SD card. Got them sorted and loaded into picture files;
Visit to Dad's, wildflowers, garden flowers, birds and of course that new carpet I have been talking about.

So uploaded a few shots to Flickr and that is when the wheels fell off of my perfect day. Flickr will not let me put any photos into my blog. I can leave a link and you can go see them on my Flickr page, but alas, they will not show here.

As for the carpet, Roxie likes it.
Syd doesn't really care.

Here is a link my Flickr page with the new carpet Link

Kite festival sounds like fun, they are so colorful now!

The corgi puppy would not leave my feet which made it a little hard to walk. I think I would have stopped that immediately if that little cutie was mine, LOL! One of the training tricks that Mr. P taught me is dog needs to get out of the way of human not the other way around ;) My friend has had many corgis so I think she knows how stubborn they can be, but she totally adores the breed (and I can see why).

Be careful, GG! There may be some rednecks around down there that'll think those kites are drones, and start shootin'! :' )

Hi Shirley, Miss Roxie came with that name. We got her from a family that found her to be a bit of a handful. She still is, but cuteness lets her get away with a lot. Am trying to decide whether or not to take her to the Kite Festival in Dallas. There will be heat and lots of walking....Heck that could be a problem for me too.

Well with or without Roxie, have to go check this out. Should be some really great photo ops.

Hi GG. I like the name Roxie Hollywood - quite fitting as she does look quite grand on that pretty new carpet!

You are right about birding being harder once the leaves are all full on the trees. Today, sounded like I heard a towhee but never saw it. I heard the hawk as it was raiding the little birds' nests but could not see it in the tree. I did spot it flying above. Hawks make a lot of noise like fair warning counting to 10 and here I come. I also heard a duck or goose one and spotted it flying over and got a distant shot of it.

Hi Ylee, was a good day yardening but holy cow the heat has sure wore me out. Gonna have to buy stock in Gatorade.

Hi Tony, am going to try and get Roxie out for more walks. We are going to Arkansas soon on a dog friendly vacation and she will be walking a lot. Have to get her feet in shape.

Hi Skye, they do grow up quick. The good news is you got them for the fun part. They are going to be really messy when they get big.

Hi Sandi, I am so hoping they new inexpensive ones are great. Actually anything would be an improvement over the ones I have as my prescription has changed so much. Am loving the cooler weather. Have been sleeping very well.

Hi WTS, oh isn't the little corgi sooo cute! Makes you want to get one doesn't it? Well until you come to your senses and realize how much work that cute is. Calpoppy has the right idea, just visit and take pictures.

Good to see you getting your pics here...beautiful!

My ducklings are huge. I think I got them a better home for when they are grown secured. They are getting to be alot of work. I should have got a pic of them playing in the rain. Maybe today.

I've been a fan of that GOES-5 model.. & not just because it's NASA..lol.

We are warmer here than you are... but the sun is actually up here, and it must still be dark, just, with you!
That is a good deal on the specs.... hopefully there is quality with the lower price too.
Talking of glasses, I am loving my new ones. I can actually read road signs at 50 yards again! lol
My right eye is beginning to pull its weight again, now it has a lens in front of it that works correctly for its stage of "age"!

Have a great Friday/Saturday?

First off, OOHHHHHH CUTE!!!!!
Calpoppy, the corgi pup is adorable :D Thank you. The chocolate flowers only want to grow from underneath the santolina.

Hi WTS, was just over at your blog checking the fire situation. So far so good.

Hi Sandi, now the heron is really blue knowing another got "it's" fish.

Hi Briar, yes it was a good birding day. Was tickled to see a juvenile great blue. This year my iris's did better. Last year not much at all and many died off. Am very happy to have these ones come up.

Hi Shirley, Calpoppy does take some great action photos. I like birding best in the very early spring. Once the leaves all come in you can hear birds all over the place just can't see them.

So went to Costco today to get an eye exam and new glasses. Am totally amazed at how much cheaper they are at Costco. Of course when they show up next week I will know if it was a good deal or not by the quality. Got three pair; regular, computer and sunglasses for less than one pair of glasses at my other eye place. Hope these are good glasses.

I love Calpoppy's Corgi photos! Great action shots! Lucky you to see the indigo buntings - I have never seen one. How exciting to spot the nesting white eyed vireo. Know you would have liked a shot of the nest. I have never seen one of those either but looked it up on all about birds website. It is so cute! I will have to listen for them. I usually hear a bird before I spot it. It drives me crazy when I hear it and can't spot it. I surely hope Sandi's little BiG fish show back up. I love the thoughts of those fish and her little pool.

I am sooooo glad you got out for a photo shoot or two. Herons and Iris are a great combination -- two of my favorite things, in fact.

Looks like your weather is into a nicely uneventful pattern of mid-80s and partly cloudy. Should be good photo shoot conditions for you again this weekend!

Oh, very funny about the "blue" herons!
Talking of fish in the pond... they have gone missing - again - possibly scared by something and have gone down deep. I haven't seen them for four days. If they don;t appear in the next week, I shall know the heron finally came back to claim his prize:)

Good Morning we had RAIN again! If we get this once a week until October our reservoirs just might refill. Oh, and this morning it is 56f as opposed to 76f at 5am yesterday. Don't really mind the 50's too much. Good sleeping weather.

Hi WTS, too bad we can't share some of this cold front with you.
That was Roxie's June Bug dance. She will do that to crickets as well. In the video she looks a bit like a chunky twinkie, that's what prompted the comment. The camera really did add girth to her.

Hi Sandi, I have always felt that the name Great Blue Heron is a bit of a misnomer. Looks grey to me. Perhaps the North American ones are depressed because they can't fly back over the pond to eat your fish and that is why they are blue.

Hi Data, yeah we are tough on carpet here too. Quite soon there will be a track path from the front door to the kitchen. I guess that is what carpet runners are for. Getting new carpet is also much cheaper than buying a new house and moving although almost as much work.

Hi Oz, the critters sure like those "feeders" we put out for them. Netting or chicken wire is a pretty good solution though. Do you all sing the "Kookubarra song?"

Hi Shirley, Thanks, it was a good birding day. We saw a whole bunch of indigo buntings too. Oh, and a nesting white eyed vireo. Couldn't get close enough for a shot of the nest though.

Hi Ylee, believe it or not the ground is fairly dry this morning after all the rain. We got about an inch here. If we got another inch it within a day or two it would start ponding.

Hi GG! Thanks for stopping by my blog while I was distracted by the rest of my life.

I checked out your new carpet, and must say that I'm jealous of it. The carpet in our house is disgusting, and I've been wanting to replace it for years. Hubby keeps saying, "What's the point, the cats are only going to ruin the new carpet, too," and I know that he's right. But that doesn't stop me from wanting.

You have a great eye for color, too. And I'm glad Roxie likes it!

I wonder what the difference is between your great grey heron and our grey heron... probably size, denoted by the word "great"!
The grey heron that visited my garden a couple of years ago and snaffled most of the fish, has not made a return appearance, I am pleased to say. I still have the remaining seven, from the original 35 I had in 2011!

I know it is your long week... hope it goes quickly :)

Hi Tony, sounds like the rain needs to back off a bit if you have ducks on your street.

Hi WTS, thanks, those great blues are some big 'ol birds. I also got a picture of a juvenile great blue heron in another spot.

Hi Linda, Oh My. That does look like great fun but I think I just might have other plans that weekend than a symbolic circle of life festival; the fish eats my arm, I eat the fish, we are one. Pretty wild flower.

Hi Ylee, that was shot about 10:00am or so. The bird is at the bottom of a dam spillway.

This is a juvenile Great Blue Heron

Hey! Get out your calendar! There's an event up your way in June that might be a not-miss. Maybe. I wonder if the noodlers ever use June bugs for bait?

That's a beautiful iris, for sure. Did you know there's a tiny iris called a prairie nymph? They're beautiful, too, and a couple of weeks ago were just covering some fields south of here.

Hi, GG.

Nice new carpet. I am a bit envious. Hubby whines about us not being able to have carpet because the cat sheds, barfs up his supper occasionally for obscure reasons or might decide to use it for a scratching post. It's not the cat that's the problem. It's Hubby. He's so fumble fingered, I don't dare put in carpet. I find a wet mop about once a week because he's knocked over his glass of milk, water, tea, Coke, etc.

Do they sell adult sized sippy cups? If they do, I need to buy some!

I'd been hearing some grumbling about Flikr's new security causing problems with posting pictures here. I see Sandi and Briar have given you some tips and you've had success. That's a gorgeous iris! I like that shot of the Great Blue, too.

I missed my chance for a good nature picture yesterday. There were a couple of Mallard ducks, a male and female, in the ditch beside my route and I didn't even have my phone with me.

Good Morning, it is 67f and promises to hit 90f today. Madame Cleo for sees lots of water and Gatorade in my future. It's the early morning Birdwalk at LLELA today. And wow. Just took a sip of my coffee. Kind of strong this morning. The new bag must have been extra fresh.

Hi WTS you are 1st! Have already found several soggy june bugs. Syd doesn't care cause he lost his run around on the carpet and house privileges when he became a vampire at age 5. At least he has good conversational skills, sort of like Hannibal Lector.

Hi Linda, I wondered if you all got rain or it just skirted you. Hard to tell on the regional radar where it is hitting exactly unless the entire area is yellow/red. Yes, you found my other alias, "Corgibird". I may have commented on your Word Press once or twice from my Corgibird moniker. oh, following your example I started putting some of Syd's peanuts out for the bluejays. They really like those.

Hi Shirley, thanks, her name is Roxie Hollywood and she is a bit of a diva. Amazing her fur which sheds more than any dog I have ever had, does not show up on this carpet. It sure does in the vacuum though.

Hi Sandi, I am going to try that just as soon as I finish comments here. Great job on getting her furriness posted. So you have a similar carpet too. You are right "Great Minds". Although I will pass on the offer to have Max fluff it up though.

Hi Skye, I will have to re-check those settings. I thought all my photos were under general share with everyone. How are your ducks? I need to get back over and look at your blog for more than the weather maps. The GOEs maps are great.

Hi Ylee, we got an inch and a quarter! Really needed it. The spring green grass was starting to go brown. Bit early for that here.

Hi Calpoppy, yes I do hope you get to say RAIN! in helpful amounts. We are on a three year drought cycle too. Let's hope it lets up. I know you enjoy the desert, but only sand is not a good thing. Oddly, our desert area of West Texas has been getting more rain than us.

Hi Briar, thanks. Yes one day I will get back to writing. Right now I'm doing a lot of visual art stuff. I try to keep my writing light and humorous which is actually a pretty tough style to do without being snarky or mean humor. As for being philosophical about things, unless it is spur of the moment I tend to get a bit over the top. Imagine a choir robe with too much lace and shiny buttons.
Okay going to post this and then try for pictures.

You may not have noticed there are choices about Permissions for your photos on Flickr. Go to your settings, click on the Privacy and Permissions tab and scroll down to "What license will your content have". The default is None (all rights reserved). You can also change Permissions on photos as you upload them or edit them. I changed my default to "Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike Creative Commons" which, in theory, should make it possible for folks to share my photos if they want.

I read your Bunny in the Headlights story over on Clearlakemike's blog, comment #6. And I wholeheartedly agree with Mike's response to that, which was: "Life is a strange and mysterious journey, GG, and you expressed it very eloquently in your terms. Not to be facetious - at all - you should write more of your thoughts and observations if you are not already doing so. A Word Press blog? You described that encounter with the bunny spirit beautifully. Yes, I wonder why i have escaped death before. Is it just dumb luck?"

I know you're busybusybusy, but I do hope that you are at the very least keeping an archive copy of your excellent writing. And maybe someday you'll have the time and inclination to get serious about your writing. You do have talent for it.

And I already commented on your Flickr photos. Love your color scheme!

Hello...here I am with the solution:-)

Mike is right, Flickr has made the images 'secure' ...they think they are protecting you.
All the images in my header and blog are actually from Flickr.

You need to open the 'three dots' menu then select 'download' which opens a new page. Select 'view all sizes' near the bottom and then click on the size you want, usually 500 or 640. Right click to pick up the URL and move across to WU. Paste into the comment block, via the image tab as normal, but then remove the S at the end of the https once you have it in your comment box before posting..... That is new, Flickr never made the photos secure before, but if you remove it before posting, it works. Leave it in and you get nothing!

Now going to see the new carpet!

Here you are:)

Okay, nothing seems to be working to load photos from Flikr

Wow, this just keeps getting screwier and screwier trying to get Flickr pics to load. Remember when you could right click, it would show properties and viola! you could copy that and paste to WU pic icon. Now it has something called "Inspect Element" and shows lot's of programmer stuff that I am sure given a chance to play with I could crash the whole system accidentaly.

Grrrrr. I may be moving to photobucket. Hi PLapman.
