Autumn Leaves

We drove up to Broken Bow Oklahoma over the weekend to see the changing of the leaves. It was beautiful up there.

Find the birdy

Was so tickled to get this shot. Trees in Oklahoma are a whole lot taller than trees in Texas. Go figure. Could not tell what I was getting because I was end of the zoom and the LED screen is not so great for seeing how the photo looks.

Now for some scenery;

I got a WU AC for this shot.

This is one of the areas popular with trout fisherman along the Kiamichi River.

Someone was making art along the trail. So pretty had to take a picture.

Thanks for stopping by.

Well, darlin', the reason you couldn't find the link is because my short-term memory problems apparently are worse than I realized! Let's try this again!

Paris, Texas

Hugo, Oklahoma

Lots of good stuff in both of them - I just re-read them and now I'm really ready to head back!

Good morning GardenGrrl.
Luckily the Queen was working away from the area where the pipe burst but still heard the loud bang as the pipe burst.
Ennjoy the day.

Good Morning All,

Hi Ylee, hope you get some well deserved time off soon. There are places to go and people to see.

Hi Shore, I looked but couldn't find a new link. Loved the elephant video.
Oh dear. This is the time of year when one has to always chooes the next fun activity over another one.
The first Saturday here is the last birdwalk for the year.

Hi Sandi, sleeping in this morning sounds wonderful. Get some extra rest and zzzz's in for me as I now have to go pack lunch and head out the door.

Wednesday and the middle of the week for most.... But the end is in sight for you :-)

Staying in bed until lunchtime. I find I do less if I stay put! I do want to get out tomorrow or Friday, I need a change of view! Going stir crazy in these four walls!
But at least I can see the wonderful outside on all the blogs that are showing 'road trips' :-)

GG ~ There's another link and a pic for you over at my place. Heck, I'm jazzed for another road trip. The first Saturday in December, Santa comes to Hugo on an elephant - how cool is that? (Hmmm... I'd better go check and make sure they're still doing that. But there are plenty of pics on the web of the festivities!)

I am SO ready for a road trip, but it's still "go time"! Maybe if the plant has a long closure around Christmas... :)

Good Morning All, after reading Shores new blog I am totally jazzed to go on another road trip.

Hi Tony, I would not have imagined so much snow so early if I hadn't saw your car cam picture. We used to carefully use a shovel and then a broom on days like that during mid-winter in Minnesota.

Hi Sandi, I figured with your collection of cameras you would have one "sacraficial" camera that could be kept in less than ideal conditions. My old "super-zoom" that is stuck in auto because the menu knob broke off is the one I use if there is a chance for damage.

Hi Wabit, If you have pictures, feel free to post them here. This winter is going to be great. Next week we are planning to go if it's not too cold and windy.
Then if it's too big to really enjoy in one trip may keep visiting until it closes in January.

GG .. the wife and I went and saw the Chinese Lantern Festival in St Louis a couple of months ago when we took a weekend trip .. It was fantastic .. Was held on the St Louis Botanical Garden grounds and the setting was ideal ! The lanterns are amazing and much larger then I thought they would be .. Hope you enjoy them ..

Your suggestion of leaving a camera in the kitchen isn't a bad idea. The only problem is that the long lens is on the Panasonic, and to get the birds I need the long lens. The kitchen does get steamy in the winter, as I don't have the door open, like I do all summer, so I prefer it not to be in the room all the time! I shall have to get out one of the old cameras and have it there for emergencies!
Hope the bat cave is behaving:-)

Good morning GardenGrrl.
i used a plastic shovel to rescue the car from the snow. That snow wasn't even drifted it just snowed that much. If we'd of had high winds with that it would have been terrible.
Have a good day.

Hi Prose, your comment was big and blue, I thought it was mine...then I got to thinking, I know I read a comment from Prose last night...
Glad you and your old colleages still help each other out. After a certain amount of time working together you all become family for better or worse and I'm happy your group chose the better part.

Good Morning, overslept a bit today. Forgot to set alarm. Good thing I usually wake up around 4am-ish and look at the clock to see how much longer I can sleep. Uh, negative ten minutes this morning.

Hi Sandi, the link doesn't send me to your photo :(
but Happy Anniversary :) Maybe you should keep cameras all around the house. I always have one by the kitchen window.
We don't get comp days although they would be happy to have us do that I suppose.

Hi Ylee, yeah it was a photo safari. Real tickled my camera was in the mood to shoot the colors so well.

Happy Monday,
I meant to ask....going to to work on an off day - overtime or do you get a day off in lieu?
Glad you had a good bird watching session. I saw the jay come back to the feeder yesterday but the camera was upstairs:-(

Every time I come to your blog and I look at the photos in the header, I was being reminded of something, then today it hit me. The first ever AC I got was an autumnal scene of trees and water........ When I checked it, I took it on November 13th 2005!

Good morning. Do you have any cheese left? It's good for breakfast as well.

Thank you so much for stopping my blog, I appreciate your visits and comments. My friend is doing ok, considering the situation. I plan to be with her in future chemo sessions, provided my health is passable on those days. She also has a few other friends who visit her at home now and then. The same people are my friends as well, they are all our retired colleagues. So she has a good support system, along with her son and husband.

Wishing you a great week.

Good Morning, inspite of high winds had a stellar day of bird watching saturday morning. Saw several birds that I haven't seen before; spotted towee, harrier hawk, brown creeper. Was really fun.

Hi Sandi, yes those trolleys will wear you out. By January you should be feeling more energetic.

Hi Calpoppy, now I'm going to have to look up koala sounds. The fantasy ringtone will be getting bigger.

GG, you should listen to a Koala bear. I never knew they made such a weird sound. When I am home I will see I'd I can put up a link to it.

That is dedication!!

Oh, I never realised how tiring pushing a trolley was! lol

Good Morning, quick drive by through my own blog. Have to work today.

Hi Calpoppy, ya know maybe I could step dub the puffin call with the woodpecker call and a techno beat background. That would be fun. (If i knew how to edit music)

Hi Sandi, oh yeah grocery shopping can be wearing during this time. One good thing though if you have no leaves next week is that wildlife is easier to find and photo.

Hi Karen, it's the same in North Texas. No real color. Amazing how a four hour drive changes the entire landscape. Thanks for saying my photos are nice I am very happy with this set.

GG - your pictures are so beautiful, for this non fall color gal too. Most of the leaves around here just turn brown and fall off. We might see a little yellow and orange, but NOTHING like what you posted.

But to be honest, I think a few more of your photos should have received an AC. I love the ones with the reflections in water. Congrats on the one you did receive !!!

Hi Sandi, sure hope you are up to a drive. Being at home due to restrictions is tough. It's okay if it's a choice. If you are feeling really good before January hop a plane to Dallas. We are having the Chinese Lantern festival.

No, never made the drive, I 'shattered' myself going around the store for Christmas baking ingredients :-(
By the time I was home, had an early lunch and rested up, the sun had gone behind dark clouds, so I postponed it until next week!
Either I will get more colour or no leaves! lol

I first saw a pileated woodpecker in Montana, quite a wing spread. Maybe you can use his call for your ring tone, lol!

Hi, I was so fascinated with the pileated woodpecker had to look them up on visual google (You Tube).

Here is one doing their signature call.

The first minute of this one is really cool.

Hi Plapman, yes, with the snow already coming I imagine there is not much color left. Just keep Abbey away from Monty Python films and I'm sure she won't meet the killer bunny.

Hi Sp, you must have posted while I was posting. It was great finding Woody. He is a lot bigger in real life than on those tiny TV screens we used to watch.
Yes,definitly have to encourage random acts of art and beauty. These are things worth posting.

Nice photo's GardenGrrl. The trees there are behind ours where our leaves are mostly gone.
I hope Abbey never meets that bunny you posted in my blog.

Hi All, it was a great weekend. With all that is going on in the world I feel truly blessed.
That said, please send a prayer, good thought, vibe to the people in the Northeast.

Hi Prose, thanks. The colors and reflections in the water were amazing. The photos with frames had some post process work, exposure, saturation. The ones without frames just turned out really good.

Hi Sandi, sure hope you are up to a drive. Being at home due to restrictions is tough. It's okay if it's a choice. If you are feeling really good before January hop a plane to Dallas. We are having the Chinese Lantern festival. Link

Hi Rob, I love the Eagles. They are kind of a mellowing out to, lullaby band that also happens to be cool.

Hi Calpoppy, Oklahoma is kind of my backyard Alaska. It only takes about four hours to drive to Broken Bow. So amazing how much the landscape changes by miles and altitude.

Hi Rebel, thanks. Good to see you around :)

Pretty Blog!
Brought to mind a pretty song, an old favorite.

"The Autumn leaves have got you thinking
about the first time that you felt love.
You didn't love the boy too much, oh no,
you just loved the boy too well."

What a feast for my 'lacking-autumn-colour' eyes!
I love the one with the weir... It is a great composition.

Also congrats on your AC, too!

I am hoping to be strong enough to drive through the deer park tomorrow, if the sun shines, so I may just see some colour!,
