Checked and another installment into cyberspace. The weather even forecast is now underway. Temp 4C strong winds from East @ 25-35KPH with gusts forecast in the 60KPH range for the next twenty-four hours. A check on radar reveals whole eastern seaboard having similar weather.

First day of school, took kids found the school in darkness. School cancelled due to 'pending storm', anticipating snow on the mainland, but only rain for this island. Decision to close school made at district level no local conditions considered. This is becoming a common occurrence, have to wonder if it is part of rationale that if one part of district shuts down all must?

First day of scalloping tomorrow, and weather conditions will not be the best to say the least. No idea of what price is at this time, our input on the marketplace does not influence price. It will depend on how much the big players have on the market when ours are ready to go.

Wow... it must take a good bit to close the schools up your way. We get laughed at a lot down here, for shutting down for a little bit of ice or a few flakes of snow.

Do Emily and Rob attend school on the mainland or on the island?

That's how it is here, too,Rob.The school district covers a wide area and lots of weather.I was surprised it wasn't cancelled here today....snow inland this morn, rain here on the coast.Ocassionally, school is closed here due to impending storms....usually those closings are on Fridays.Coincidence?...I think not.
Storming heavy here presently.Wind gusts to 80K/50Mph and torrential rain.Chance of a thunderstorm tonight.Wild weather, for sure.

Have a good day,
Al in NS.

The school here has a student body of approx. 450 students grades K-12. Basketball a big sport, and our teams have been successful sevral times as Provincial Champs in our school size.
