Overcast, temp just below the freezing mark with a gradual decline as the day moves along. Brisk westerly the order of the day, in the 40KPH level for the day, clearing skies as a result. Clear till end of the week forecast is for a bit of precip, temps looking a bit better than this past few weeks.

Did see a fine flock of brant near Nantucket a couple of days ago, and a few making their way up in the harbour yesterday. Haven't heard if anyone has attempted to tap as yet, conditions improving for that to start.

Otis has heat, last we heard, new parts on order to insure the furnace is once again dependable. The amount of fuel he has had to burn is astronomical, unit has been certainly less than efficient.

Evening,
Blustery January type of day, 20 degrees, 30 mph NW wind with temps to bottom out close to 0 by daybreak but the wind will drop out a bit. Some moisture due Wed night/Thursday morning headed our way.

Survived another annual town meeting yesterday with highest attendance I can remember. School issues bring folks out of the woodwork. We are one of the highest cost per student towns in Maine, probably in the country. No way to educate 11 students K-8 cheaply in what is basically a one room school located on the island.

Both girls are home and overlapping for one night. Rachel back to work in Augusta while Emily home for a week. Em will go with me to the Can/US lobsterman meeting in Portland this Thursday/Friday. She is actively looking for employment and will network her way through the meeting.

Happy Sunday, Rob.

It sure sounds like you've had just about everything Mother Nature could offer, except spring warmth.

Not a good time for anyone to be having furnace problems. I hope Otis manages to make it thru to the end of cold weather without further problems.

I wonder about our furnace more and more; it's getting a bit long in the tooth.

It's about 68F/20C down here but we've got rain arriving soon. There's a nasty line of storms down along the Gulf Coast, that's now moving onshore. I'm hoping that bit will lose strength by the time it reaches SC.

It's going to be a wet commute to work the next few days.
