Promised blizzard and snow arrived on time, still ongoing. Temp -6C, snowing quite hard, being blown around with NW wind @ 45-50KPH. Will gradually clear as the day moves along, high winds to remain for next couple of days.

Rob and Rachel left on 3:30PM trip yesterday, made it to St. John before the storm hit. No problem travelling till after dark then would not have been a place to be.

Appears any travel to get more wood will be on hold for quite sometime, drifts along the tree line will be more than a little substantial.

Dear Rob:

Greetings! We are totally buried here. Easily, we had four feet of snow in the driveway. Next door neighbour went across in the 4x4 and picked up daughter at her apartment. She was almost to her waist in snow wading in to the house. We all shovelled for hours. (and I have no clue why we didn't just hire someone ?? :) ).

We were invited to the back neighbours for supper and we had to snowshoe to get there. The snow was way to deep to just walk. There was talk at dinner of yet another storm on Tuesday and Thursday, but the Grand Manan weather is giving Southerlies so not sure if that can happen. Did you hear anything about it?

I hope you didn't have to spend all day shoveling. You all usually get less than we do.

So that is it for here. So tired I just want to sleep until Wednesday - like that could ever happen.

Happy Sunday, Rob.

While we seem to have finished up with the winter storms here in the Deep South, it looks like the latest one has now made it's way up to you.

It's been a nice weekend here. Temps in the 50's and sunny skies. It was really windy yesterday, which made it seem a bit on the chilly side.

Still, it was much nicer than what we've been dealing with.

It's probably a good decision to hold off on the wood gathering until this latest round of winter weather pulls out. With those drifts and the wind, it would be nigh impossible to get anything done.
