The grand red sky and brilliant sun rise being hidden behind cloud cover. Temp -1C, calm, the promised moisture not too far away, showers changing to snow flurries overnight, carrying on till late tomorrow, cold and clear for most of next week.

Road crew out during the night getting some salt down, yard has a skiff of ice showing, will let up as the day moves along.

Time getting by woodpile isn't going to materialise by itself, ground too soft, not likely to be able to get any wood down today. If such is the case will stow the remainder of the Christmas gear and have that out of the way till fall.

Afternoon,
It has been snowing since about 2:30PM but melting as it hits the ground with no wind to speak of most of the past week. We have had temps in the 40's most of the last week. I guess it is back to the ice box starting tomorrow for a while. Most of our snow is gone except for where it was piled up.

We are headed to PE to see Emily this weekend. I guess we will stay in Saint John Thursday night and take in the fishery show in Moncton Friday. I just talked to Tony and he is not sure if he is attending the show or not but we did make plans to meet at the Lobster Town Meeting in Portland in March.

Great news that Rob is getting an education in a field which he enjoys and in a field where employers come looking for him. You can't beat that kind of on the job training.

Dear Rob:

Hello! Quick question: Am I right in saying the first ferry - leaving from BLACK'S HARBOUR - on a Friday would be at 9:30 a.m.? I think that is it, but with all the new changes to everything BOAT just want to make sure. Neighbour has to go over to do a job at the rink so he needs the head's up on timing. Thanks.

Word. Chunks.

p.s. We are overcast same as you, however, it isn't cold and it isn't snowing so .... it's all good. :)

Hi, Rob.

There was a light skim of ice on the birdbath this morning.

I've been prowling around the weather websites and it looks as if the overnight temps of mid 20's to low 30's (F, of course) will be hanging around for another 10-14 days or so. After we get into February, they'll come back up. I'll be glad, too. I don't do cold temps very well. We're a bit thin-blooded down here!

It's a nice sunny day out there, though a bit breezy. We're about 40F but it feels like 30.
