The freezing rain for the area has moved off, temps more seasonal -2C will be on the decline all day with minus double digits by the time the old guy gets airborne this evening. Overcast, wind NW will be a factor expected to 20-25KPH, similar conditions for the remainder of the week.

We have been spared the power outages that have hit the folks on the mainland. Numbers without power keep going up, crews get one spot looked after the trees take down more in another location. No estimate when things will be restored, power out from St. Stephen to St. John, in various locations, and points in between.

Rob out the door early this morning getting a few hours before the Xmas shutdown kicks in. Donna attempting to have the gang gather for a Xmas Eve snack, between church obligations for Rob(drummer) and "other" invites the window to get them together not wide open.

The pile of gifts beginning to appear as if this a staging area for Santa rather than waiting his arrival. Guess this isn't the year the comment "next year we will cut back" kicks in.

Well, it is time to light the last candle. It is late on Christmas Eve here in the UK.
All that is left to do is to wish you a VERY HAPPY and SAFE CHRISTMAS :)

Dear Rob:

Hello! We have been spared the power outage but we are one of the VERY FEW. Over half the staff at the store have not had power for two days, including the owners and the boss. At least 3/4 of the customers this morning also without power. People are making do and those with power have invited others not so fortunate in to their homes. We are hosting tonight for that very reason.

Superstore and all grocery stores yesterday without power. They must have lost millions of dollars in revenue. It will be a mad house today for the one store that did manage to get power back.

Sarah just made it back from St. George. Roads are a nightmare. They had no power at the boyfriends for three days. Now they have a maple tree that is splitting and threatening to come down on the mustang which is 'winter parked' there. They are trying to get help but the few people available that can run a saw is getting fewer and fewer.

Glad all is safe with you I guess we can really appreciate what we have now, ah?

Have a good one and MERRY CHRISTMAS. Have to get things started for a huge amount of people which were not expected. Arg.

Word. Chunks.
