Overcast skies the order of the day, however relenting to some degree, temp 11C, expected to clear with temps in high teens. Calm, not a bad beginning to the day, moisture in the forecast for Thursday, then back to nice fall weather.

One has to wonder with all this great weather is the weather gods waiting for Setting Day, not that one is overly pessimistic about such things.

Rob has returned to his abode, a quarter tank of gas with no thought he needed any extra, "even with the warning light on he has 60kms", no problem, except no gas from Blks to St. John, must be nice to have that much faith.

Dear Rob:

Another outstanding day here as well. Shorts and t-shirts on October 15. Who would ever believe it?

Sarah sent an e-mail and they have made it alive to Bangkok. The heat there is oppressive. For her to say that is unbelievable because she thought Nicarauga was bad, but this is worse. Combine that with the smells of spices, etc., and it is pretty wild. One of the girls she is travelling with has never travelled before and she has had a melt down of crying. The huge crowds of people, etc., are just too over whelming. Sarah has been holding her hand and trying to get her through. She thinks it is all one big adventure, but, she has gone so many places it doesn't seem strange to her.

Too bad Emily couldn't share an apartment with Rob. I know that would cramp Rob's style, but Emily could easily get a job in Saint John and take the bus. She wouldn't need a car. It will indeed be very hard to get a full-time job in Grand Manan - even at the best of times.

Well, that is it. I hope this weather keeps holding out. I have been enjoying it so much.

Word. Chunks.

Afternoon CHUNKS, and a grand one it is, summer temps, lots of sun, just a draft for an afternoon breeze, lots of activity around as the fleet begins the final stretch to getting the traps in the water.

Sara had an interesting and expensive beginning to her trip, hardly out of view, things do happen, at least she got underway.

The water has been something else, no disturbances at anytime of the day, very unusual, especially this time of year. We are supposed to have afternoon winds, just not the case.

Emily looking for things to do for cash flow, but in these times not a bunch available, she is not big enough to work at the fishery, the restaurant trade bottomed out completely, will see what transpires.

Imagine your part of the world is full of colour, leaf peeping here is about as good as it is going to get.

Have a good one.
