The forecast Rainfall Warning about ready to commence, no wind, a muggy 16C, forecast is for Tshowers and sustained rain this afternoon and overnight. Possible clearing tomorrow, nice for Sunday.

Word of lots of activity around Swallowtail this past few days, from humpback whales, to a scene from SHARK WEEK. A seal was taken, by what must have been a Great White, that is the story, I heard it mentioned on CBC, haven't spoken to an actual witness. Could be a 'story' or could be true.

Fishery news remains fairly quiet, not much going on in the 'grey zone', weirs capturing a few on front of the island, fairly good on back of the island.

Dear Rob:

I was SOMEWHERE the other day when I got a text message. Was going to ignore, thinking it was the kids needing something. Opened anyway. Text message read:

I JUST SAW A SHARK EAT A SEAL BELOW THE LIGHT.

What the hell? says I. Who gets a text like that. Anyway, it turned out it was from Kenneth, and he wasn't kidding. The tourists he was giving a tour were horrified!!! It didn't help when he started humming the theme song from JAWS. What a guy.

I went out with Laurie on the sail boat the other day and we saw a feeding frenzy of about 15 fin whales eating together. It was so spectacular I ALMOST forgot to take pictures. Totally amazing! Went down a ways in to the trench off Whitehead and saw a load of Humpbacks. I have MANY whale tail shots to prove it. An amazing day on the water.

Whitehead yesterday. We were the only ones on the trail. Someone, presume the trail committee, have placed brand new benches along the trail and I think I was the first one to sit on it. Just beautiful. I don't know who commited to the project but I would easy pay for one of them. So well done. I enjoyed the view from each.

Today we are battening down. Appears a storm in commence. I think Deep Cove would be a grand place to fire off a few shots. There is a STRONG WIND WARNING for the Marine area.

Tomorrow, hope to get a table at the Farmers Market. I have to go and find out who I talk to about that.

Well, busy, busy, busy ..... have a great day.

Word. Chunks.

p.s. I was so pleased to finally get to meet you the other day. You are very tall :) and good looking! :) I am old I am allowed to say that. HaHa Now you know why they call me Chunks ... it is due to body type. Bahaha
