Overcast at daylight, sun now taking over, a 10-15KPH breeze NE gives the 5C temp a much cooler feel. Temp to rise into mid double digits wind to remain NE, nice temps and sunny for the weekend.

Fishery news remains quiet, lobster catch steady, but no great numbers being landed. A couple of boats with gear in the harbour, more gear noticeable inshore, quite early from days gone by.

Ferry situation remains unresolved, no communication from the decision makers after our meeting earlier in the week putting on the table the negative socio-economic impact of the proposed ferry schedule changes will have.

Afternoon David, yes the easterly should be done with days ago, we have it NE but letting up ever so slight this afternoon.

The level of catch locally not on the up swing, in some locations remains at winter months levels. Water temp slow in moving upward, speakng with one of the divers on local Salmon Operation is very cold.

Haven't heard local price dropping as dramatic as you mention. Similar complaint/observation by local fisherman about the desire for the single operater be taken out of the process. To organize a group of people as independant as lobster fisherman to present a united front difficult if not impossible especially in the market place. The independance is one of the many factors that keep people in the industry. Time for me to get off the soapbox, however same yarn takes place at every shore or coffee gathering of local lobsterman.

Your Em becoming well travelled, PEI to Vancouver via Cranberry Isles quite a travel intineray, guarantee she will be the only one at the conference that can give such a route, good for her. Our Em settling in hoping for employment sooner rather than later, she now has an apartment for next year and the nessecity for funds to make it work.

Have a good one.

Morning,
You can turn off the easterly wind machine at any time. This wind wears on the nerves and body. My neighbor flew to Denver on Wednesday and right into 6" of snow so I guess I should just shut up and deal with it.

Price rumored to be down to $4.25 a pound today. somebody somewhere must be catching a ton of bugs but not us. Seems the higher up business model is to slowly put the owner/operator out of business in hopes they can take over the fisheries top to bottom. We will see. Slowly we are fightng back.

Our Em down from PE for one night on her way to Vancouver for a conference. She stopped at my Mom's last night and then gone this morning. No dust gathering her vicinity.
