Heavy frost evident this morning, temp -3C to rise into double digits by afternoon. Remains clear and calm. The harbour resembles a reflecting pond with Ross Island showing nearly halfway across the water. Looking good for the remainder of the week.

Donna and Patsy off for a foray to the mainland, no agenda, good weather best to learn if the shopping is as good.

Fishing news remains static, a few lobsters, price hovering around the $6/lb level. A good price in comparison to what was being paid a few weeks ago, but headed in the wrong direction.

Morning David, best kind of weather to be working on the water. Looking down your way yesterday afternoon, lots of the Nova Scotia shore looming, however nothing down the U.S. shore. Once in a great while we can get a glimpse of Mt. DESSERT, when conditions all align to make it happen.

Tony and Jeremy had one chance at the halibut, had a great day, however so did the others, a very limited quota caught in short order. His largest come in at 80lbs, of course lost one larger, another boat landed one over 200lbs. Long time since halibut that size has come ashore. He feels the lobster gods have been good with them, always room for improvement.

Weather finally giving a respite from the rain and wind, but still a hint of easterly most mornings. It is past time the NE should be SW, just doesn't want to let go. Also first time since early last fall we haven't had the stove going for three days in a row. Have had to top up with a shot of electric heat in the morning, but not for long.

Have a good one, hope the traps are full.
