A grand contrast in weather conditions this morning from Sat. at the same time. Total callm, bright red sun up over Ross Island, temp a cool -12C. Forecast suggest will change as the day moves along, temp to rise on the plus side and drop some moisture by this evening. Similar conditions for the remainder of the week.
No report of serious damage, hydro crew in evidence tackling some remnants of the storm, for the vast majority of us no hardship for power during the event. What time power out amounted to a few hours at worst, the road crew somehow kept abreast of the storm, huge drifts in some locations, but main road passable at all times.
Today be a busy day on the water, I suspect, be boats attempting to see what damage and loss of lobster gear resulted from the storm. The beaches littered with wier stakes, Whale Cove had quite a bit of driftwood and other items gathered up, checked yesterday no evidence of it remains, just pristine beach rocks, the wave action no doubt pushed the stuff back over the sea wall.
