GROUNDHOG DAY, Six more weeks of winter he definatly saw his shadow this morning. Bright sun, wind has finally let up, a slight draft from west, temp a cool -13C to rise to middle single digits in the minus range. Similar condtions for the next week, with clear days in the forecast.

Looking across the harbour, a few wisps of sea smoke evident as the sun gathers more power. No suggestion of ice on Ross Island the combination of rain and wind cleared it out over the past few days,

Emily at Quispam for the weekend, not too much on the intinerary, just hanging out it seems.Bus is the mode of travel these days, working not too bad.

Yeesh, that's cold.

It makes our overnight low of about 27/28F seem balmy in comparison.

We'll hit 60F this afternoon.

Local groundhogs (or their equivalent) saw their shadow here. Sunny and nice outside.

Guess we'll have six more weeks of what is passing for winter, lately.

We're normally much colder. The past two winters have been unusually warm.
