GRAND MANAN, N.B.

Cold, windy and clear so far this morning, continues to blow from NW 35-40KPH, temp a -11C giving a windchill of -21C, no let up in the forecast for the remainder of the week. With a possible exception of brief respit tomorrow.

Rob did some plowing with ATV yesterday, didn't have to be suggested, anything with a motor gets attention. Will see what happens this morning some snowdrifts have to be moved, looks as if best done by hand. Probably will attempt to move with ATV first, then will see what happens.

Emily must be feeling better communication with her Nan at a minimum yesterday, other distractions for sure.

Road crew did a great job, as usual, snow kept clear of the highway, one must be aware of the icy conditions, at these temps salt not much of an asset to taking it off.

Mornin CHUNKS, assuming you folks are digging out in fine style. Lots of snow in this part of the world, most for the past few years, combined with the windchill seems more prairie like winter conditions than Bermuda of the Maritimes, however it will be what it will be no matter how much one likes to gripe about it.

Quiet evening on Ingalls Head Road is planned, good friends for an evening of reflection of the past year, and what is coming in 2013. Some light refreshment and beverages in hopes of making it to the New Year with eyes open.

Emily remains in Quispam, plan is to retrieve her on Wednesday, with a return to UNB next Sunday.

HAPPY NEW YEAR

Dear Rob:

We are still digging out. What a mess. I may never get the snow off my car.

We are planning to go in to see THE HOBBIT tonight and then go to the fireworks in Saint John. Cody going to some thing or other and Sarah back to Fredericton this morning. Will have to wear three layers as it is going to retain -12 throughout the day.

Neighbour going to Dipper Harbour this morning and is going to pick up some lobster for me. He also agreed to cook it so I don't hear any suffering. That will be a supper.

So, Happy New Years to All. Hope eyes stay open till mid-night and STAY WARM.

Word. Chunks.
