Classic winter storm on at the moment, gale force winds from NW, blowing snow, temp -3C. Wind to remain all day, snow certainly will be blowing, radar indicates the bulk of the storm headed for St. John at the moment. Cold, clear and windy for the start of 2013.

Emily managed some solid food late yesterday, watching some movies with whatshisname, seems her world beginning to return for what passes for normal. Rob home early last evening as snow started about time to go skating, all hands thought best to return to respective abodes and not push the travel issue.

Ewwwwww... It surely sounds nasty up there. I'll try to remember this, the next time I feel like complaining about one of our cold snaps.

Oh, the dreaded dry socket. I'd heard horror stories about those and was terrified I'd have one. Luckily, I healed up just fine.

Dear Rob:

Greetings! We are getting pounded. Snow is being driven horizontal by at least 35 knot winds. It is hard to say the exact speed of the wind as I don't have a wind reader but I went out long enough to fill the bird feeder and the pine needles slapping you in the face felt like little darts and actually left a mark on your skin.

There is a drift between hubby and I's car that actually makes it look like one long car. Drifts on the deck - ditto. We are going to wait off for a bit and hope the wind dies before we attempt to shovel anything.

Glad to hear Emily improving and no sight of a dry socket yet. That is like hell. Sarah had one.

Speaking of which, she is off to St. George to visit 'whatshisname' :)haha She went yesterday, thank heaven. - and obviously will be staying put for today as I am pretty sure the dog teamm couldn't even make it through this.

Have a good one. Word. CHUNKS.

Morning,
Hammered-20" on the flat going and more in drifts caused by steady 25-35mph NW wind. Sunny and breezy in effect with frigid temps later this week. Perhaps some of the bugs that have migrated N with warmer temps the last few winters will now fall back a bit.

Emily decided to stay home another day and will attempt to get back to PEI tomorrow.

Back to snow removal.

Brrrrr..... I'd send you some of our warmth, if I could. We are sunny and about 8C.

Glad to hear that Miss Emily is improving. By this time next week, it will all be a dream.

I'll bet she enjoyed that first bit of solid food as much as I did!

The migration south to Myrtle Beach should be commencing shortly, right?
