Wind has quit, at least for the moment, total calm, overcast, temp on the plus side. Weatherman suggesting clearing with temps in mid-single digits by this afternoon, still saying southerly and rain for tomorrow but clear and cooler as the week unfolds.
Wind yesterday, don't appear many of the boats give it a try. If you can't get the full day in, at these prices, no sense in leaving the wharf. Need several crates of the critters to allow some of the cash to flow beyond paying expenses.
Council Meeting last evening a Speaker from 'away', commented on the nice cruise over, and allowed the people of Grand Manan enjoyed Christmas Light displays.

The lobster fishery is in need of some changes for sure. The catch in Novie is way up, price, I am hearing below $3/lb, locally seems to be holding in the $3.50/lb range. Some boats on the Nova Scotia side of the Bay staying off the water, can't afford to haul traps for that return. One of the boats reported landed 20K lbs, first time around. The boat fished the clock with a couple of crews, however an indication of the amount of critters hitting the market.
Tony and his son changing lanes next week dragging for sea urchins. Market reported to be steay with a good price. On your side of the line price has been real good near $4/lb at one time. A bit lower here, however certainly rivals the return for hauling lobster traps.
Enjoy the shed, keep stove warm, most sheds here come with coffee pot and crib board. Certainly no gossip, all statements made can be verified as being true.
ROB
Clearly you haven't been down to Gerald's shed for a bit. If you don't have any gossip you better make something up because as soon as you come in - get your coffee - and start the crib tournament the question is always: So,what is going on and did you hear anything about such and such. HaHa
The sun has come out here and we have zero wind as well. A good day to get at least a start on outdoor decorations. I was thinking in lines of something for the birds.
What is l'IL Rob wanting to take at the Community College? I somehow figured he would be trying out for the coast guard. I still wish Cody had gone that route, but who knows, that can still happen. He is only 20. There was talk of Mechanical Engineering at the last weekend 'get together'. Mothers are the last to know.
Have a great day and enjoy it while you can.
Word. Chunks.
DAVID: I creeped 'as the kids call it' on Rob's note to you. Clearly your wife is made of very tough stuff. I would not be messing with her in the near future. :)
