Seasonal conditions this morning, a stiff NE breeze 20-25KPH, overcast, temp holding at the 0C level, with the breeze much cooler. Similar conditions to remain with possibility of sunny breaks later in the day.

Rob played lobster buyer last evening, catch steady. A grand night to look out over the water, moon, still dead calm. Looking out over the Bay at Swallow Tail counted twenty boats working. First time that many boats in such a concentrated area around North Head, quite a change from lobster effort of just a year ago.

All quiet at UNB, plan is for a bus ride to Quispam this weekend, exams start shortly into December, Emily coming home by mid month for a few days at least.

Dear Rob:

Doesn't it seem like just yesterday that you dropped Em off for the start of university and now it is the first break of the year coming very soon. Time flies.

It is cool here as well but we do have the sun to remind us that it is still okay - no snow to shovel, etc.

The Christmas madness is knocking on the door. Everytime at this time of the year I start to have anxiety (as I am sure most women do) - that everything will not be done for that 24 hours of Dec. 25. Why we do it is beyond me.

Speaking of which - off to town. Hope your day is excellent.

Word. Chunks.

Morning David, a breezy and cool one just the coast from your kitchen, no doubt similar your way.

One thing about you lobster guys optimism is first and foremost for the next season. Always a few traps to build and buoys to paint.

Season well in commence locally, the Nova Scotia area opened the first of the week, no reports on what the catch looks like from that area. Catch numbers slowly rising here, first few days not great overall. The catch remains consistant at good numbers allowing the boats to gain ground on landing numbers. Price still depressed with no indication they wil be getting any better.

Lots of trawl fishing traps in deep water, pressure on areas never had the pressure before, will see if it can stand it.

Stay warm. ROB

Just wanted to say I saw your Christmas decor all lit up and looking very festive:) Since I'm no longer a GMwannabe but an actual resident here on the island, I no longer read this weather blog as often. I can see for myself what's happening on the bay right out my kitchen window:) Yeah!!!
GM has turned out to be as beautiful as I was sure it would be…we love it!
