A wet one this morning, calm at the moment, has been a steady downpour, letting up at the moment. Radar indicates lots of moisture in the area, however may be to the north of us. American forecast advising of clearing by this afternoon, Canadian saying rainfall warning in effect for the remainder of the day. Temp a mild 17C will rise a bit by this afternoon.

Oh, Lordy.... that check engine light. I drove my truck around for months with that stupid thing glaring at me.

I'd taken it in several times (dealership and PEP Boys) and they couldn't seem to find what the problem was. We started off with something simple: replacing the gas cap. Eventually, they began making hints about maybe having to pull the gas tank. YIKES! Lotsa $$$$. I said I'd have to think about it.

Finally, one of the mechanics at PEP Boys discovered that my distributor had a ton of corrosion in it. (How or why remains a mystery.) He replaced the distributor and ~~ BINGO ~~ Problem solved.

Ah, for the good old days when vehicles just had parts and not all that computerized stuff and electrical.

Thick fog, heavy rain and some wind throughout last night until noon or so. Wind now WNW with glimpses of bright sun between overcast spells. With luck tomorrow will be clear and comfortable. Present path of Hurricane Leslie cause of concern so next weekend's soriee away cancelled.

I don't expect heavy rain or wind, just some good old fashioned rough water. I will start moving shoal water gear tomorrow and keep and eye on Leslie's progress up our way.
Common Ground Fair in Unity the weekend of 9/20-22. It is a back to nature celebration of young and old ideas geared to those into the farm life and local food movement all with an organic flavor.
Good to hear your Emily is fully involved with university. Hard to see them fly the coop but that's what we want for them, isn't it?

Damp afternoon here on the Bermuda of the Maritimes, lots of rain, seems to be coming in waves, almost cleared a couple of hours again, has now returned with a vengenance.

Emily has indeed begun to settle in at UNB, a whole new crowd to sort out. Whathisname returns to the country tomorrow, as a consequence after class on Friday and visit to Quispam in the offing.

Communication not a high priority, unless a hitch in the daily flow of things is encountered. Engine light on her vehicle required a few phone calls but she did make arrangements for a check on it tomorrow, prior to heading to Quispam.

Rob off to school this morning, didn't travel with me, his buddy next door has access to a recently purchased jeep. Much more cool for two boys in Grade 12 to arrive by jeep than his grandfather in an older Ford 150.

Stay dry. ROB
