Clear, calm, temp 15C to rise low 20's, sunny, this forecast till the end of the week. Evenings cool by time to turn in, ideal conditons almost everyday. The foggy and damp days are welcome relief, they haven't last long or been many.

The ROTARY FESTIVAL, from all accounts, a great success, lots of events, well attended by local and visitors. The weather conditions a great asset, last evening the fireworks dispaly a great way to end the festivities.

Fishing news remains static, herring scarce, a few lobster being landed from the 'grey zone', no groundfish being landed locally.

Dear Rob:

On the deck at 5:30 a.m. Ready to board at 6:45. Bit of a roll this morning but otherwise absolutely outstanding weather. Going ashore in Machias a bit of an adventure, especially for the older folk.

Puffins were not in huge abundance, however, there were still plenty to be photographed. We had a grand time watching their antics. Must say the puffins seemed to be landing more herring than the fishermen:)

One chick was abandoned by its parents and he wandered out on the lawn - getting pretty hungry. The lighthouse keeper rescued him so the gulls wouldn't eat him and we all got to see him up close and personal. The keeper was very protective of him so there was no touching allowed. Tonight he will let him go so he has a better chance of making it away from the gulls. All the chicks are pretty much fledged by now.

Ocean on flat calm the whole way home and it was no problem to sit on the boat in a t-shirt (try to imagine).

It will take a while to get all my photographs in order. HaHa

Now a slight lunch break and then off to somewhere else.

It has been a large day and it is only 1|00 p.m.

Mornin CHUNKS, a better day to head off to Seal Island you will not find. The temp should be just about right, you might be lucky and see some White Beaked Dolphins that are in the area. The White Sided have left the area and the Beaked ones have replaced them, great numbers and wonderful show when they are around.

Also large numbers of Sun Fish, squid, and tinker mackeral around the wharves in North Head and Ingalls Heada, there is some fish around for sure.

Kids busy, Emily travelled most of the weekend, to Miramachi via Fredericton Junction on Friday, she was a bit concerned about the Thunder and Lightning going through the woods, to Quispam via Fredericton on Sunday, then home yesterday. Don't believe she has a grand idea of where she was as RICHARD(GPS) told them where they should be.

Enjly the day. ROB
