The grand sunrise giving over to overcast skies, temp just on the plus side attempting to rise into double digits, a draft from NW, overcast with a possibility of showers by this evening. Weather unsettled for a couple of days, Easter Weekend still looking good.

Donna and Patsy had an extra time ashore yesterday, traffic held up on #1 returning to Blacks long enough to miss the 5:30PM trip. Being innovative they killed the time by checking out St. Stephen. A number of fellow travellers caught in the same traffic hold up.

Brant offshore this morning, just after daylight, took off as one and headed up the harbour. Not a one in evidence at the moment, still have the Canada Goose pair here in the afternoon.

Good afternoon,
We had just a slice of sun as we left the dock this morning. When it disappeared shortly thereafter we thought it was gone for a day or so but we were wrong again. About 10 AM it cleared up and was sunny as can be until about 12:30 PM and now is overcast. Wind up and down but nothing serious.

Price still at $6.50/.lb and the catch seems to justify this higher then usual price. Fresh bait is a problem as there seems to be none available.

When we first set traps out in mid March the first time we hauled back it was on fresh herring. East of Baker's Island we had 5 nice size codfish but as the bait has gotten older we have not seen a one. We did have the first flounder of the year today, about 4 inches long. All were returned to grow and reproduce. A hope of mine is that when my grandkids are are big enough to go handlining there will be something left for them to catch. I should emphasize if and when there are grandkids.
