Not the same view this morning to get an idea of what the weather is looking like. St. George for the next couple of days. Temp has increased overnight at the freezing mark at the moment.

Trip across left at 7PM at least a dozen vehicles and a couple of trucks, was off the ferry at 845PM, a quick trip for sure.

Dear Rob:

Freezing this morning with a N something wind. Cold!
Now about 2 with no wind - so doable.

Glad to see that our fishermen have the sense to try for a sustainable fishery. Too bad all others would not take the example.

Yesterday to the ballet, home for a birthday supper and then drive daughter back to university. Came back over the pass at 11:30 p.m. Thank God for a full moon. Stayed awake but dragging butt this morning. NO time to nap too much to do for Christmas. I figure I will be the usual basket case by the 25th. Oh well ... fa la la la la - la la la la :)

Mornin David, quite journey to worship and have a bit of fellowship, the effort makes the results more enjoyable for sure.

The sea urchins was a bonnanza locally for a number of years, with very limited participation and a quote system implemented. A few years ago the licenses increased by double, 12 I believe all with the same quote as before the increase. The resource couldnt stand the pressure the catch dropped dramatic, this combined with the economic reality of the marketplace had the local fellows come together and jointly agreed to reduce the allowable landing by 75%, not by regulaltion the agreement stands this season must be five years or so into the system. Locally all the urchins are dragged no divers that I am aware of.

Lobster catch now down to work to get a catch, and now letting them set for a day or so to make the trip worthwhile, price still in the $3.60 range.
